Eighth annual Old Towne Christmas set for Dec. 8


The eighth annual Old Towne Christmas will be 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

Old Towne Christmas is a free, family-friendly event that provides holiday fun for the entire community.

Children and their families can enjoy a visit with Santa and Christmas story tales by Mrs. Claus. Other activities include a hay ride by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a magician, a balloon artist, children’s games and face painting. Christmas ornament-making activities will be conducted by the Fairfield Federal Credit Union.

Each child will receive a free Christmas bag from Santa that is filled with Christmas coloring books, colors and prizes.

The First United Methodist Church youth group will present “One Starry Night,” which will focus on the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

Holiday entertainment will be provided by the Jenkins Choir and other community groups and individuals. Christmas cookies, punch and popcorn will be given to all participants.

Old Towne Christmas will begin right after the Christmas Parade.

The Old Towne Committee for Reinventing Downtown Pine Buff is planning the event. Sponsors include: The Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, Pine Bluff Festival Association, Pine Bluff Convention Center, Pine Bluff Downtown Development, Fairfield Federal Credit Union, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Pine Bluff Police Department, Brookshire’s, RSVP, Walmart, First United Methodist Church, KTRAIN, YouthPartners/SOS and many volunteers.
