For the second time this summer, Jefferson County Judge Dutch King and the County Recycling Department will be hosting a recycling event targeting young people.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 9 at Saracen Landing. People who bring in two recyclable items will receive a hot dog and refreshments.
Billy in the Morning from KTRN 104.5 radio will be hosting a live radio broadcast with giveaways, a news release from the judge’s office said.
Other organizations that will be represented will be the Pine Bluff Mayor’s Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services, Pine Bluff Police Department, Pine Bluff Clean and Beautiful, Pine Bluff Recycling and MECA (the Metropolitan Emergency Communications Association).
Sponsors will include M. K. Distributors, WalMart, Brookshire’s, Sissy’s Log Cabin and Tom Fitts Tobacco Co.
“This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment to make use of every resource available in out community in cleaning up all of Pine Bluff and Jefferson County,” the release said. “We encourage all citizens to attend.”
