Jefferson County Judge Dutch King has lifted the countywide burn ban after rains late Monday and through much of Tuesday.
King said the rain had diminished the fire potential. He asked that citizens be “extremely cautious” when burning.
“Please practice the following safety measures — attend the fire at all times, don’t burn in high winds and keep a water source close by to control the fire,” the judge said.
King reminded that Pine Bluff citizens are always required to obtain permits before burning. Burn permits are available by telephoning the Pine Bluff Fire Department at 870-730-2048.
“The ban on burning may be reinstated in the near future if necessary,” King said.
