Jefferson, Grant and Arkansas counties and on up through the northeastern part of the state are under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS has identified a wide swath that includes all of Southeast Arkansas where there is the potential for severe weather today, including the possibility of large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
On Monday, winter weather is possible, mostly in central and northern Arkansas — including the Little Rock area. A mix of rain, sleet and snow will be possible, mainly in higher elevations, according to the Weather Service. Any accumulation should be limited to grassy areas and elevated terrain.
At 8 p.m., the Weather Service added a severe thunderstorm watch for Bradley, Drew, Cleveland, Lincoln and Desha counties effective through midnight.
