Anniversaries/Annuals

The sixth anniversary honoring Rev. Don and Isabelle Hawkins will be celebrated at Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Sunday.

At 11 a.m. the guest preacher will be the Rev. Andrew Bates, associate minister of Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Pastoria, will deliver the message at 3 p.m.

Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will celebrate its 62nd church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Charles Boyd, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church.

The eighth anniversary celebration honoring the Voices of Heaven will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Sunday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave. The guests will include Chilton Blunt and Willing, Totally Committed, Barnes Sisters, Determined, Kim Pettus and Friends, Jacksonaires, Spiritualetts, The Gospel Sonz and more.

Concerts/Musicals

The Barnes Family Choir will be in concert at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 2900 S. Catalpa St., at 3 p.m. Sunday. Other guests will be Another Chapter and True Vessels.

The SEArkansas Community Mass Choir will sponsor a musical benefit program for Donald “Dank” Johnson and Zina Maxwell, both victims of house fires, at 7 p.m. today at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

The Mighty True Lights will hold a singing program at St. John Alexander Towers, 22nd Avenue and Hazel Street at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Revivals

Bethel AME Church at Ladd will hold revival service at 7 p.m. Friday. The evangelist will be the Rev. Eddie L. Harris Jr., pastor of Greater Ward Chapel AME Church.

Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, 4401 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its revival service Tuesday through Friday at 7 nightly. The speakers will be Gail Stith, an evangelist from First Trinity Church of God in Christ and Rev. Freddie Heard, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church at Grady.

The Central District Baptist Association Women’s Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. today at Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold its installation of officers program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Luther Spratt of Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka.

The pastor and bishop K.D. Mixon of Victory Faith Church of God in Christ, 1517 S. Poplar St., will present Faith Movement 2012 — Winter, Word and Worship Conference featuring the Gospel Sonz Wednesday through Friday at 7:15 p.m. Guest ministers will also include:

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will hold its annual pew rally at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Melvin Johnson of Mount Calvary Church. The guests will include Newbirth, New Hope, and Mount Calvary choirs and Maurice Hopkins of Highland.

The Prophetic Fellowship of Churches and Ministries Inc. will present “Kingdom Gathering” at 7 p.m. Sunday at Evangelistic Outreach Church and Ministries Inc., 620 L. A. “Prexy” Davis Drive. The guest preacher will be Chester Thompson, bishop at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Camden.

The Rev. Thelmon Williams Sr., will preach during 11 a.m. worship service at St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church.

Rev. George Gatewood Jr. will deliver the message during a praise and worship service at the Cottondale room of Ramada Inn Plaza, #2 Convention Center Drive, at 6 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be the Gatewood Brothers.

The Rev. Darrell Edgerson of St. Peter’s Rock Church will be the guest for Thursday Night Live at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 2900 S. Catalpa St. at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its installation of officers program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Xavier Diamond of St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold its annual building fund program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Daryl Graydon, pastor of First Baptist Church at Altheimer.

The January board meeting of the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association will be at King’s Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., Wednesday through Friday at 6 p.m. Rev. Robert Handley, district moderator, will teach the leadership classes. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its annual Night in White at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Andrew Williams, pastor of Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
