Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold their annual family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ricky P. Bifford, associate minister of Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer.

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 Wisconsin St., will host the 24th anniversary honoring the pastor and wife of New Derrissaux Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Freddie L. Webb and Mrs. Kathy P. Webb, at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will observe its 92nd church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Pierce Moore of First Baptist Church of El Dorado.

Damascus Missionary Baptist Church, 224 N. Cypress St., will hold its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Derrick Easter, pastor of Bailey Chapel Baptist Church of North Little Rock.

Damascus Missionary Baptist Church of Grady will hold its annual usher board program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Jimmy Polk, pastor of Rankin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Grady.

Greater Battle Chapel Baptist Church of Altheimer will hold its 48th mass choir appreciation program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Chestine Sims of Union AME Church of Little Rock.

Brooks Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello will observe the second anniversary honoring the pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. James H. Spinks starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with a musical. At 3 p.m. Sunday, the guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Rogers, pastor of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Gould.

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St., will observe the 11th anniversary honoring the pastor, Rev. Glenn Barnes and family, starting with a banquet at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $30 each. At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the guest speaker and church will be Rev. Rodger L.B. Cutler of St. Mark Baptist Church at Muskogee, Okla. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. LeArthur Shelton of Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church.

The Central District’s 128th annual session of the Regular Arkansas Baptist Convention Inc. will convene at Bethel New Bethel, 2522 Pryce St., Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m. for laymen and women and at 7 p.m. for the parent body. An appreciation banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Life Center, 2101 Reeker St. The banquet costs $10. A fellowship picnic will be held Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Martin Luther King Park.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Northside Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 5603 Holsey St., will hold its annual women’s day at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The guest speaker will be Elder Gwen Moore Brown of Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Little Rock.

New St. Hurricane Baptist Church, 3319 Ohio St., will hold its annual women’s day Sunday and at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Felicia Coleman of Happy Home Baptist Church.

Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will hold its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church of Star City. Musical guests will be the Southeast Male Chorus.

Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God in Christ, 3105 S. Apple St., will hold their annual women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Shirley Withers, an evangelist and first lady from Woodson Temple Church of God in Christ.

Bethel AME Church of Ladd will hold its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Elder Rodney Reavling of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ of Pine Bluff. The guest choir will be Men In Black.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will hold its annual women’s day with services Sunday. The guest speaker at 11 a.m. will be Letrece Harris. At 3 p.m., Joyce Vaughan will be the guest speaker.

Concerts

The 100 Men Who Care Inc. will present an evening of spiritual music at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 S. Georgia St., at 6 p.m. Sunday. The featured guests will include Nora Celestine, the Cosmopolitan Choir, Saint Paul Male Chorus and the Pine Bluff Spiritualettes.

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will hold a mass choir anniversary musical at 3 p.m. Sunday. Words of encouragement will be given by Rev. Daryl Graydon, pastor of First Baptist Church of Altheimer. Special guests include First Baptist Church Choir, Future Generation, New St. James Baptist Church Choir, Full Faith Choir, Renewed Generation and more.

New Harvest Church of God, 9016 Highway 270 West, will host the Kingsmen from Ashville, N.C., in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

First Southern Baptist Church, 6111 Highway 270 East, will present the Kinsmen Quartet in concert Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The group has been singing for 28 years and members include Mark Little, Gary Newton, Bill Hankins and Gerald Williams.

St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will hold the male chorus anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be Spiritual Wings of Joy.

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., presents in concert Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Music Department of Altheimer at 3 p.m. Sunday. Guests include Mt. Zion Mass Choir, Adult Choir, Youth Choir, Zion Boys Choir and Praise Dancers and Motley Chapel Choir. The fundraiser is sponsored by Prairie Lake’s youth department.

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2008 Vaugine St., will sponsor the annual choir concert at 6 p.m. Sunday. The narrator will be Rev. Aaron Barnes of New Home Baptist Church. Words of encouragement will be by Rev. Curtis Smith of Belmont Missionary Baptist Church of Moscow.

Revival

Pine Bluff Baptist Area Ministers Alliance will conclude the Annual City Wide Revival at Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Oakwood Road, at 7 p.m. on the following dates with these speakers: Wednesday, Rev. Todd Howard; Thursday, Rev. Donald Agee; and Friday, Rev. Terry Brown.

Discovery in Prophecy Seminar will be held at Red Roof Inn, 210 N. Blake St., at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and Friday and Saturday.

Special Events

Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 Indiana St., will hold a mission ministry fellowship/workshop at 10 a.m. today. The guest speaker will be Angie Gatlin of Evangelistic Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock.

Eternal Life Ministry, 503 Pryce St., will hold a worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Dr. Louise Tyler Tisdale of St. Luke AME Church.

New Harvest Church of God, 9016 Highway 270, will begin a new worship service at 8:30 a.m. Sunday followed by its 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. The church is hosting a revival that has lasted four years. For transportation, call the office at 247-0316.

Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St., will hold an associate ministers’ program at 3 p.m. Sunday honoring Rev. Billy Bradley and Rev. Rodrick Marchbanks. The guest speaker will be Rev. Patrick Lockett, apostle and pastor of New Community Church of Pine Bluff.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold monthly worship services of the Pastoria Singing Union at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will host the ushers’ fellowship brunch at 10:30 a.m. today. The guest speakers are Rev. Lavara Henry, pastor of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church, and Assistant Chief of Police Ivan Whitfield of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will hold an educators’ appreciation service at 11 a.m. Sunday to honor all area educators and school personnel. The guest speaker will be Chancellor Laurence Alexander of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. All educators and school personnel will receive special treats during the service.

Allen Temple AME Church, 1123 Virginia St., will observe family and friends day pew rally at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be Greater Ward’s Chapel AME Church Mime Team, Rev. Torre Kindle of Helena, Shannon Lamb of Jacksonville, Mattie Johnson, Rev. Reginald W. Alexander, and more.

Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Grady will hold its family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The special guest will be Rev. Andrew Bess, associate minister of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Bluff Spring Baptist Church, 1121 Persimmon St., will hold its friends and family day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Toney, pastor of Pilgrim Rest and Sixteen Section churches.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will observe a day of remembrance to honor its pastor, Rev. Robert Willis Jr., at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Gabriel Jackson of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. The guest choirs will be Mt. Olive Choir and Smith Chapel Choir.

New Covenant Church, 1717 W. 13th Ave., will host a celebration in honor of Micheal “Mike” Graydon, a deacon at 6 p.m. Saturday. Special guests will include First Baptist Mass Choir, Angels of Christ, First Baptist Male Choir, Nu Mighty, Supremes and Virtuous.
