St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will hold the 23rd anniversary celebration honoring the pastor and wife, Rev. Melvin and Marilyn Harrison, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will hold their annual usher program at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The special guest will be Rev. Gabriel Jackson, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. The musical guests will be Men in Black and the Mt. Olive Choir.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 Orange St., will observe its seventh appreciation program honoring its pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Aaron Barnes Sunday at 3 p.m. The guests will be Rev. James Barnes and the New St. James Baptist Church.

Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gesthsemane will observe the sixth anniversary honoring Rev. R.J. and Shannon Simmons Sunday. The morning speaker will be Rev. Kendall Summons. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Roosevelt Simmons Sr. of Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will observe its fourth anniversary honoring its pastor and wife, Rev. Brian L. and Constance Castle at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest pastor and church will be Rev. Clark Thomas and New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill.

Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will hold its 46th anniversary celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Holmes of Sand Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Brandon, Miss.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold its annual homecoming program Sunday. At 11 a.m., the guest minister will be Jackie Harris. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Willie Laws of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Cornerstone.

Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will observe their 17th anniversary honoring Rev. Jimmy L. Fisher Sr. and Nora Fisher at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Isaac Barnes, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church of Gould.

First Baptist Church Dew Drop, 1701 N. Bryant St., will hold its 89th church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Amelio P. Howard, pastor of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 10900 Morris Chapel Road, will hold its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Roy Thomas of Eudora Baptist Church in Altheimer.

Concerts

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will hold the first anniversary honoring the Little Vessels at 6 p.m. Saturday. Musical guests will include Angels of Christ, Angels of Praze, Faith of Harmony, Heavenly Hearts, Kendrick Williams and more.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day Program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Debra Canagan.

Union Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will observe its annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Lee Nora Savage of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Revivals

Pine Bluff Baptist Area Ministers Alliance will sponsor the Annual City Wide Revival at King’s Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., on the following dates at 7 p.m. with these speakers: Wednesday, Rev. Johnny Smith; and Thursday and Friday Rev. Gary Bell.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Grady will hold its revival services at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The guest pastor and church will be Rev. Lugene Boyd and Redeemed Temple of Pine Bluff.

New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, will hold their revival at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The evangelist will be Rev. Joe Scott of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Grady will hold its revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The evangelist will be Rev. Lamar Brooks, pastor of Marzell Missionary Baptist Church in Grady.

International House of Praise, 1002 E. Eighth Ave., will hold its revival with these pastors speaking on the following dates at 7 p.m.: Monday, Carolyn Ramsey of Pine Bluff; Tuesday, Linda Strickland of Pine Bluff; Wednesday, Jackie Rainey of Little Rock; Thursday, Betty White of Pine Bluff; and Friday, Joyce “Oscea” Creggett-West of Marianna.

Special Events

The Word is Life Ministry, 1717 S. Main St., will hold its fourth annual prayer brunch at 9 a.m. Saturday. The guest evangelist will be Debra Canagan of Old St. James Baptist Church.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold a Pastor’s Aid Program honoring Rev. Ramon L. Hunter and Wanda Hunter at 5 p.m. Saturday. Musical guests will be the White Family, Kindling Star, New Bethlehem Choir and KCAT Gospel Caravan.

Seven Star Missionary Baptist of Tillar will be celebrating their Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Johnnie L. Morton, pastor of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas. The guest soloist will be Joe Butler.

The Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association/Congress will convene with the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow Monday through Thursday with Christian Education classes starting at 5 p.m. The general assembly meets at 7 p.m. with the following speakers on these dates — Sunday, Rev. Levell Bass will give the Dean’s Address; Monday, Rev. Brian Castle, 1st vice-president; Tuesday, Hilda May, women’s president; and Wednesday, Rev. Steven King, executive vice moderator. Class certificates will be awarded on Thursday.

Vacation Bible School

Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Oakwood Road, will hold its Vacation Bible School at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Youth

Young Men of Valor and Young Women of Excellence will hold a back-to-school conference for ages 6 - 18 Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The young men will meet at the First Trinity Annex Building, Sixth Avenue and Catalpa Street, and the young women will meet at First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 S. Catalpa St. Backpacks with school supplies will be given to the first 50 youth at each location. Lunch will be provided. Speakers will encourage youth to do their best for the upcoming school year.
