`Anniversaries/Annuals

Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will celebrate the 12th anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Elvert McKnight, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will hold its annual Choir Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Hellums of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ladd. Musical guests will be the Oak Grove Choir.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will celebrate their annual Ushers’ Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Rogers, pastor of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Gould. Musical guests will be the Morning Star Choir.

St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will observe the fourth anniversary celebration for their pastor and wife, Rev. Reginald Cleaver Sr. and Dwana Cleaver, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Aluster Hamilton of St. Phillips AME Church in Magnolia.

Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 425 South, will hold its 113th Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Melvion Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Baptist Church of Star City.

Pleasant View Ministries Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will hold its 88th Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Kelsey Highsmith, pastor of Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Hermitage.

New Zion Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Monticello will hold its first appreciation program for its pastor and wife, Rev. Eddie Williams Sr. and Denise Williams, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Harold Shaw of John Wesley AME Zion Church in Wilmot.

Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will observe its fourth annual appreciation and celebration program for the pastor and wife, Rev. R.W. Alexander Sr. and Linda Alexander, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Chestine Sims, pastor of Union AME Church in Little Rock.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 S. Orange St., will observe the seventh appreciation service honoring the pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Aaron E. Barnes Sr., with ministers night at 7 p.m. Friday. The guest minister will be Rev. Larry Battles, pastor of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.

Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will observe the 33rd appreciation service honoring its pastor, Rev. Larry C. Battles, at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV, pastor of Saint James United Methodist Church and a state representative.

International House of Prayer, 4106 W. 12th Ave., will hold a 43rd pre-anniversary program honoring its bishop, G. Lusk, at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. The guest speakers will be Rev. Sammy Smith, pastor of the Union Hill Baptist Church of Rison for the afternoon service and at 7 p.m. Elder Clarence McClain of the New Rose of Sharon, Holy Ghost Headquarters of Memphis, Tenn.

Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Grady will celebrate its annual Choir Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Also, mid-week services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Falandus Graydon, assistant minister of First Baptist Church in Altheimer, as the guest speaker.

Concerts

Graceful Productions presents Doc McKenzie and the Hi-Lites in concert at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium at 6 p.m. Sunday. Also appearing will be Blest by Four, The Hunter Brothers, The Racy Brothers, The Gospel Son, Williams Singers and more. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will hold its 34th annual musical workshop at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration will be at 5:30 p.m. and the fee is $25. A workshop concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. The guest clinician will be Rev. Willie T. Summerville of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, Ill. The annual Ole’ Timers Renewal Fellowship Service of the Pine Bluff Quartet Union will be held at Family Time Baptist Church, 501 Ohio St., at 7 p.m. Sunday. Musical guests will include the Spiritual Harmonettes, Five Sisters, Majestic Voices, Singing Consolators, Gospel Pioneers and True Lights.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will celebrate its annual Men’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Rev. Robert Key of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Noble Lake will hold its annual Men’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest minister will be Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Revivals

Pine Bluff Baptist Area Ministers Alliance will sponsor the Annual City Wide Revival at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 S. Georgia St., on the following dates at 7 p.m. with these speakers: Wednesday, Rev. Joshua Pickett; and Thursday and Friday, Rev. LeArthur Shelton.

New Fellowship Baptist Church, 17th Avenue and Cypress Street, will hold its revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The evangelist will be Rev. William Dwight McKissic Sr., pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas.

Faith in Action Ministries, 316 S. Poplar St., will hold their revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Mark Stevens, pastor of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in McGehee.

Eternal Life Ministry, 503 Pryce St., will hold their Revival at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The featured guests will be Harold Rogers, an apostle of Dallas, and Larry Shaw, an apostle of Milwaukee, Wis.

White River Baptist District Revival will be held at Immanuel Community Center in Almyra at 7 p.m. on these dates with the following speakers — Monday, Rev. Oak Grove Central Missionary Baptist Church in Tucker will hold revival services at 7 p.m. on these dates with the following speakers Rev. Author Patterson on Sunday and Rev. Daryl Graydon, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, Monday through Friday.

Special Events

The Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Arkansas Church of God in Christ Inc. will hold its 20th Holy Convocation at the Living Word Church of God in Christ in Crossett at 7 p.m. on these dates with the following speakers — Tuesday, Bishop Joe Baylor Mason, Jurisdictional Prelate; Wednesday, Earl Glass, superintendent, Lake Village District; Thursday, Bishop Junius Williams, Arkansas 4th jurisdiction; and Friday, Charles Stevenson, superintendent, Louisiana 4th jurisdiction. Lendora Early, supervisor of women, will speak at 10 a.m. Friday.

Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold a 2013 Restoration and Reconstruction Conference at 7 p.m. Friday, with registration at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday at 10 a.m., with registration at 8:30 a.m. Registration fee will be $10, which includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday. The instructors will be Rev. Gary Spencer of Gateway Fellowship International of Lonoke, Rev. Brian Dodson of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, and First Lady Jackie Dodson. Saturday’s speaker will be Rev. Artee Williams.

Canaan Christian Center, 7890 Middle Warren Road, will hold a special worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Brandon Clay of Kankakee, Ill.

Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 W. 16th Ave., will host the monthly Women Fellowship of the Old St. James Women’s Ministry at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The guest speaker will be Yolanda Pitts of Turning Point Outreach Ministries. Music will be provided by Carolyn Cody and Shirley Smith and Company.

First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 Catalpa St., will hold a Mission Service at 7 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be Rev. Darren Edgerson, pastor of St. Peter Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Bethlehem Worship Center Church in Dumas will hold its 2013 Men’s Conference starting with a Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday where Rev. L. Brooks of Marzell Missionary Baptist in Tamo will be the guest speaker. Service at 3 p.m. Sunday will feature Rev. J. Handley of Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church in Tillar.

Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church, 2611 S. Florida St., will hold a 2013 Graduate Recognition Day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Honorees include Kiara Barnett, Southeast Arkansas College graduate; Jeremy Dorn, Pine Bluff High School graduate; Brittany Neal, Jeffery Neal and La’Precious Russell, graduates of Watson Chapel High School.

Eudora Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold a Musical Benefit Program for Sacratine Redwood and Rhonda Lusk at 7 p.m. Saturday. The benefit is sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

Rev. Joshua Pickett, associate minister of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. Sunday at Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 S. Persimmon St.

The Regular St. Marion District Association will be convening with the Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Anthony Walker, pastor of Mulberry Grove will be the speaker. At 8:30 a.m Wednesday, the youth department will be in charge and Lakeyn Higgins will give the President’s Address. At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the women’s department will be in charge and Rosetta Madison will give the President’s Address. At 7 p.m. Friday, Moderator Lee Whitiker, pastor of the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, will give the Moderator’s Address.

Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 Birch St., will hold a musician’s appreciation honoring Malvin “Red” Minor at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Musical guests will be Rev. Sam Smith and New Begin-N, New Emage3, Virtuous, Angles of Praze, and Pure Purpose.
