Anniversaries/Annuals

Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 5302 W. 13th Ave., will hold their annual Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Elder H.M. Battle from Eagle Rock and Faith Temple. Guests include Men of Christ, Sonz of Adonia and Main Street Church.

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th St., will host the second anniversary celebration of Virtuous tonight and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tonight’s guests include Voices of Deliverance, Totally Committed, Elevated Worship, NCC Praise Team, and Psalm 150. Sunday’s guests include Another Chapter, Williams Sisters, Heavenly Hearts, Sensational Hearts and the Barnes Sisters.

Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will hold their annual Missionary Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Sharon Fletcher. “God’s Rainbow of Colors” will be held at 3:30 p.m.

The Clara B. Gipson Women’s Missionary Society of Mount Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will celebrate their annual Missionary Day Sunday. The guest speaker at the worship service and “Colorama” at 11 a.m. Sunday will be Lanette Frazier of Allen Temple AME Church in Pine Bluff. The guest preacher at 3 p.m. Sunday will be Rev. Thelma Hampton, pastor of Shady Grove A.M.E. Church at Monticello. Missionaries are asked to wear white to the afternoon service.

New Salem Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold their first annual Choir Day in honor of the New Salem Baptist Church Mass Choir at 3 p.m. Sunday. Bessie Lancelin will present the words of encouragement. Guests include New St. James Missionary Baptist Church Choir and Women United for Christ Choir.

Concert/Musical

The Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir will hold a “Songs of Praise 44 Concert” at Cherry Street AME Zion Church, 800 S. Cherry St., at 3 p.m. Sunday. Musicians include JoAnn Davis, Rev. Reginald Gaddie, Paul Pickett, Kourtland Jackson and Darrell Pickett.

Men’s/Women’s Day

St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will hold their annual Men’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Roosevelt Simmons Jr. from Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Gethsemane.

Grapevine Church of God in Christ at Grapevine will hold their annual Men’s and Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Elder Arthur Sledge, pastor of Kedron Church of God in Christ.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold their Women’s Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sarah Hardin will be the guest speaker.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Ladd will hold their annual Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Cynthia Howard from Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Ladies are asked to wear white.

Special Events

Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson will hold their Fifth Sunday Mission Program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Linda Murray from New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

New Derrissaux Missionary Baptist Church, 4010 Old Warren Road, will hold their Fill a Pew Program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The message will be delivered by Rev. Freddie Webb, pastor of New Derrissaux.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 Orange St., will hold their dedication weekend services. A musical event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, featuring the Spiritualettes, the Soul Revivals, Darren Edgerson and Favor, the Traveling Kings, and the Vocal Aires. A special service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday featuring Rev. Robert Anderson and Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold an appreciation program for Deacon Alton and Irene Murphy at 6 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Glen Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, will bring the spoken word.

Solomon Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 8011 S. Olive, will host joint fellowship services with Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Sunday.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold their Friends and Family Day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Robert Scott will be the guest speaker.

First Baptist Church at Dew Drop will hold a birthday celebration for their pastor, Rev. T. Breamsey, at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Johnny Smith will give the words of inspiration.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold their Fill the Gap Fifth Sunday celebration at 5 p.m. Sunday. The guest minister will be Rev. Michael Jenkins of Highland Missionary Baptist Church.

First Baptist Church at Ladd will hold a Family Reunion service for the Hall, Mackerl/Mackrell, McDonley, and Tyson families at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Gilbert Byrd of Stuttgart.

Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 135 W. 16th Ave., will hold their Women’s Ministry monthly fellowship at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The guest speaker will be Maryland Johnson from Christ Temple Church of Christ Holiness.

Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will host Fifth Sunday Fellowship services for Jefferson Chapel, Pine Hill (Star City) and Kindling Star Missionary Baptist churches at 10 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Dante Nicholson, assistant minister at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, will deliver the message.

Blake Criner will preach his first sermon at 6 p.m. Sunday at Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave. The public is invited to attend.
