Anniversaries/Annuals

Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 26th Avenue and Florida Street, will hold the 15th pastoral anniversary program for Rev. LeArthur and Tammy Shelton on Sunday. At 10:30 a.m., Rev. Willie Laws, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church at Cornerstone, will be the guest speaker. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. George Glass, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church at Bastrop.

Oak Grove Baptist Church at Gethsemane will hold its annual ushers program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Leroy Spears Jr., pastor of Union Baptist Church at Pine Bluff will be the guest speaker.

The 43rd anniversary of the International House of Prayer, 4106 W. 12th Ave., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Dennis Holley, bishop of Eternal Life Church of God in Christ.

The Regular St. Marion District Women’s Department will hold the annual mission service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gabriel Jackson of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Eudora Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate the second anniversary of the assistant pastor and wife, Rev. Wiley and Alice Crumpton, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. Johnny Murry of Oak Grove Central Missionary Baptist Church at Tucker.

Daniel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will observe the fifth anniversary of the pastor and wife, Rev. Felton and Linda Thornton, Sunday. At 11:30 a.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Michael Love, pastor of Richardson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at Tarry. At 2:30 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church at Star City.

Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church at Tillar will honor the pastor and wife, Rev. Johnny and Carnie Handley, for the 13th anniversary. Saturday at 6:30 p.m., a musical will be held for the first lady. Sunday at 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Andrew Beale, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at Pickens. The special guest for the 3 p.m. service will be Rev. Robert Handley, pastor of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

Indiana Street Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., announces its ushers’ annual will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Aaron Johnson, pastor of Liberty Hill Church, will be the guest speaker.

Concerts/Musicals

Pure Purpose will host a spring musical at 6 p.m. Sunday at Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 Birch St. Guests include Lil Vessels, New Generations, Focus, Voices of Love, Pastor Sam Smith and Nu-Beg-N, Virtuous, New Soul Revivals and New Mighty Supremes.

The sixth musical appreciation program for Michelle Johnson will beheld at 3 p.m. Sunday at Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God in Christ, 3105 S. Apple St.

St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will present their annual Choir Concert Sunday at 3 p.m. The special guests will be the New Salem Mass Choir, directed by Clifton Blunt.

Revivals

Pleasant View Ministry Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will have its spring revival, Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Leonard Ford, prophet and founder of Reality of God Ministries of Little Rock.

Revival services will be held at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 8826 Old Warren Road, at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. Evangelists will be John and Anita Newton, missionaries from Africa.

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 8523 Princeton Pike Road, will hold revival on the following dates with these speakers at 7 nightly: Wednesday, Rev. Julius McDade, associate minister of St. John Missionary Baptist Church at Lonoke; Thursday, Rev. Joshua Pickett, associate minister of Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church; and Friday, Rev. Rashawn Howard, associate minister of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Special Events

First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 St. Catalpa St., will hold is 20th monthly prayer clinic at 8 a.m. Sunday. The clinic will be conducted by Deloris Lovell, president, and Denice Howard, directress. Prayers will be offered in songs, hymns and psalms.

Prayer will be held at Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., Monday through Friday at noon and Wednesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. and noon.

Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold a building fund program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Thomas Rowland, pastor of Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson.

Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Gould will host the first sermon of Rev. Phillip Puckett at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Mt. Sinai Church, 2221 S. Olive St., will feature a guest speaker, Rev. Xavier Culclager, associate minister of Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Corinth Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will observe the annual Men and Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Willie Laws, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church at Cornerstone, will be the guest speaker.

Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will celebrate its annual women’s day Sunday. The 11 a.m. guest speaker will be Linda Watson, superintendent of Pine Bluff School District. At 3 p.m., there will be an Old Ship of Zion program.

Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 Indiana St., will host its Women’s Conference 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The class leaders will be Jackie Breamsey of First Baptist Church Dew Drop, Cynthia Powell of Family Church, Constance Castle of Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, Valerie Penix of St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church and Juanita Harris of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

Allen Temple AME Church, 1123 Virginia St., will host its annual women’s day Sunday. Lanette Frazier of Allen Temple will be the speaker at 10:50 a.m. Rev. Shalane Jenkins of Bethel AME Church at Warren will be the guest speaker at 3 p.m.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of the Pastoria community will hold its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Kirby Gulley of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church will be the speaker.
