Anniversaries/Annuals

Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St., will celebrate the 14th anniversary Sunday of its pastor and his wife, the Rev. Lee Whitiker and Magnolia Whitiker. The Rev. L.R. Jones will speak at 11 a.m. The Rev. James Williams, pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas, will speak at 3 p.m.

Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 W. Hill St., will hold a 13th year appreciation service 3 p.m. Sunday for its pastor, the Rev. Kevin Crumpton Sr., and family. The Rev. Donald Agee, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church, will speak.

God’s Way Fellowship Church, 1601 Commerce Road, will hold an anniversary celebration to honor La’Tona McDonnell. The First Lady’s Banquet will 6 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall. The First Lady’s Day will be 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Florise Blood, pastor of Stewards of Christ Ministries in North Little Rock, as the speaker.

The Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will celebrate its 18th anniversary 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Johnny Morton, pastor of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Dumas, will be the speaker.

Special Events

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold its annual Black History program 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Cleon Morgan Sr., pastor of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker.

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave., will hold its annual Black History program 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. The Rev. Melvin Graves, pastor of New Town Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3004 S. Kentucky St., will host the Elena Mays Scholarship Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Kirby Gulley, pastor of Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker.

Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. 8th Ave., will observe its 48th annual Valentine Heart Service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Leon Williams, pastor of True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker. Choirs from Eight Avenue and True Vine “E” will provide the music. Colors will be red and white.

Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, No. 2 Convention Center Drive, will host a Kingdom Connection fellowship 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Isaac L. Barron of Full Faith Christian Church will be the speaker.

Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will hold a building fund program 6 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Gabriel Jackson, pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker.

East End Church of God in Christ, 709 Virginia St., will host the Pine Bluff District No. 1 Auxiliaries in Ministry Phase l at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold an Evangelism Outreach at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Sylvester Dunbar will be the speaker. For transportation: 870-872-2855.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold a pre-Valentine’s Day Dinner fundraiser 3 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall. There will be food and gifts. The dinner is dine-in or carry-out. Couples are $25 and singles are $15. Details: Lillie Darrough at 870-329-5777.

Concerts/Musicals

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Star City will host its annual celebration of the Pure In Heart gospel singers of Star City at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Womens/Mens Day

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker Ave., will hold its annual women’s day celebration on Sunday. Vernice Meadows of Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church will speak at 11 a.m. Jacqueline R. Jones of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church will speak at 3 p.m. Meadows is a 1977 Dollarway High School graduate. In 2001 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Jones is a 1971 Dollarway High School graduate. In 1976 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from UAPB. The colors will be off-white, accented with purple or gold.

Youth

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will hold its annual youth day 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Frank Harris Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker.
