True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. 2nd Ave., will hold its annual watch meeting service 9 p.m. Monday. St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church pastor the Rev. Darren Edgerson will be the guest speaker. There will be music by the St. Peter’s Rock and True Vine “E” choirs.

Special Events

Pine Hill Baptist Church in Star City will hold a four church fellowship New Year’s Eve service 9:30 p.m. Monday. Kindling Star, Jefferson Chapel and Travelers Rest in Grady will be the guest churches.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will hold a fifth Sunday fellowship Sunday. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and the general service is at 11 a.m. Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest church.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold a fifth Sunday service 11 a.m. Sunday. L. Martin and L. Dismuke will speak. The fill-a-gap service is at 5 p.m. The watch meeting service will be 10 p.m. Monday.

The Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 S. Cypress St., is holding an appreciation program for the Rev. Eddie Gipson and the Rev. Cleophis Girley at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Alvin Dunlap of Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

The Sallie Ann Compton Women’s Missionary Society of Saint Andrew AME Church will celebrate missionary day 11 a.m. Sunday at Saint Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St. Sharon H. Fletcher, a member of St. John AME Church and second vice president of the East Arkansas Conference Women’s Missionary Society will be the guest speaker.

Saint Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will hold a freedom’s eve watch night worship service 10 p.m. Monday. The Rev. LaNell F. Ross, pastor of Allen Temple AME Church in West Helena, will be the guest speaker.

God’s Way Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Commerce Road, will hold mission Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday. Mayor Myra Edwards of Wabbaseka will be the guest speaker

Faith in Action Ministries, 316 S. Poplar St., will host a higher faith kingdom fellowship service 7 p.m. Sunday. St. Stephens Church of God in Christ pastor the Rev. Eugene Girley will be the guest speaker.

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker Ave., will hold a daytime prayer service 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday. A Bible study will follow from noon to 1 p.m.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold a joint watch meeting service with Mt. Bayou Church at 9 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Lafayette Woods, pastor of Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, will be the guest speaker.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3004 S. Kentucky St., will hold a watch meeting service with Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church and Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church at 10:30 p.m. Monday.

The Bethlehem Worship Center Church in Dumas, will hold a watch meeting service 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Canaan Christian Center, 7890 Middle Warren Road, will hold a New Year’s Eve worship service on 9:30 p.m. Monday.

The Church of God, 7111 Shannon Road, will host a movie night lock-in starting at 7 p.m. Monday. “Courageous” will be the movie shown. Snacks will be provided. New Saint Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, 3319 Ohio St., will hold a watch night service 10 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Fred Leonard, associate minister of First Baptist Hopewell in Old Hickory, Tenn., will be the guest speaker.

New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 S. Fir St., will hold a tri-church watch meeting fellowship service 10 p.m. Monday. The Rev. James Barnes Jr., pastor of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Fellowship hour will be at 9 p.m., with refreshments served.

The New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 N. Lindell St., will hold a joint fellowship watch meeting service 9:45 p.m. Monday with Union Hopewell/Bluff Spring Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Ward will be the speaker.

The Jerusalem No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 W. 12th Ave., will hold a tri-church fellowship 10 p.m. Monday. St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill and the Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff will be the guest churches.

Union Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, will hold its watch night fellowship with New Morning Star Baptist Church, St. Andrew and Macedonia Baptist Church at 10 p.m. Monday. The associate minister will be the speaker.

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave., will hold a watch meeting fellowship service with New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church at 10 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Frank Harris, pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and the Rev. Gabriel Jackson, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, will speak.

Concerts/Musicals

New Beginnings Baptist Church, 8826 Old Warren Road, will host a New Year’s Eve singing from 8 p.m. to after midnight Monday. Jamie Coulter from Hamburg, Glen Pool from Cabot, Miranda and Steve Rowe from Sheridan and many more will sing.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will host the “Songs of Praise 42 Concert” at 3 p.m. Sunday. The program is presented by The Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir. The pastor is the Rev. Charles Boyd and the worship leader is the Rev. George Waters.

Eudora Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold a musical benefit program for Melissa Bailey and Keldrick Whitmore at 3 p.m. Sunday sponsored by the SEARK Community Mass Choir.
