Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ladd will hold its annual homecoming and harvest drive on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Accie L. Reynolds, pastor of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Ladd, will be the guest speaker.

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will celebrate the second anniversary of Rev. L.A. Holcomb Jr., on Sunday. Rev. Jefferson D. Walker Jr., associate minister of Bailey Chapel Church in North Little Rock, will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. Rev. J. Barrington Minix Sr., pastor of Gaines Street Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, will be the guest speaker at 3:30 p.m.

Barnes Temple Church of God In Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike, will hold its annual family and friends day on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. Rev. Willie James Brown, pastor of Barnes Temple, will be the speaker.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 65 South, will hold its 149th church anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. A.L. Brown, pastor of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church at Yorktown, will be the guest speaker.

Joy Community Church, 2101 E. Sixth Ave., will celebrate its 17th choir anniversary with a choir concert on Sunday at 6 p.m. Susie Wright, an evangelist of Petersburg, Va., will be the guest speaker. Choir rehearsal will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Revival

Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God In Christ, 3105 S. Apple St., will hold a revival at 6:30 nightly with these missionaries from Kingdom Builders — Sunday, Youndle Davis; Monday, Precious Gee; and Tuesday, Wanda J. Jones, first lady of the church.

Special Events

St. Mark United Methodist Church, 4229 W. Sixth Ave., will hold a holiday family night fellowship and bible study Thursday at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will hold ordination services for Rev. Laydell Jordan on Sunday at 6 p.m. Rev. T.R. Ramey of St. John Baptist Church of Mitchellville will be the guest speaker.

Greater Deliverance Ministry, temporarily located at the Ramada Plaza in the Jefferson Room, 2 Convention Center Drive, will host part two of a Prophetic Utterance service Sunday at 4 p.m. Brenda Jefferson of Covenant of Faith Praise and Worship Center in Sherwood will be the speaker.

The City Wide Mission will meet Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Cherry Street AME Zion Church, 800 S. Cherry St.

New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 Lindell St., will present its Christmas program on Saturday at 6 p.m. Rev. Carla Perry Johnson, pastor of Oakgrove AME Church in Selma, will be the guest speaker. A play on the Birth of Jesus will be narrated by Rev. Louis Christopher.

Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St., will hold a district Christmas program on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. William Terrance, pastor of Living Word Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

The Missionary Society of Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., will sponsor its monthly meeting Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. Hilda May of Kings Highway Baptist Church and president of the women’s missionary society of the Consolidated St. Marion District Association will be the guest speaker.

God’s Way Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Commerce Road, will hold Blue Friday service on Friday at 7 p.m. Rev. Selma L. Moore, will be the guest speaker. Rev. Robert Staten Jr. will be the alternate speaker.

St. Peter and St. Raphael Catholic Church communities will hold an Advent mission Monday through Wednesday at 6 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 207 E. 16th Ave. Darrell Kelly of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jackson, Miss., will be the guest speaker.

Concerts/Musicals

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will hold a concert featuring The Men In Black Sunday at 3 p.m.

A “Yule Tide” Community Christmas program will be held at the Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, Dec. 22 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. The Riverside “Potlicker” Community Youth will present the program.

Southeast Arkansas Male Chorus will hold a praise concert and scholarship presentation at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Southside Singing Center, 5400 W. 15th Ave., will host a Celebrate Christmas event Sunday at 7 p.m. Groups featured are Pure Purpose, The Johnson Family, New B.L.A.C. and many other groups.

Full Counsel Church, 517 Cherry St., will hold a free Christmas concert Wednesday at 7 p.m. Dedric Jones & Chosen Praise, The Gospel Sonz, Calebs Chorus Children’s Choir and many others will perform. The concert is free and open to the public.

St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will present a Christmas candlelight concert Sunday at 6 p.m.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will feature The United Mass Christmas Choir on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Aaron Barnes, pastor of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, will be the speaker. New Home, Regenerated and Mt. Olive, will be the guest choirs.

A musical benefit program for Ronita Logan-Felps and Makeisha Dickerson will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Altheimer at 7 p.m. Saturday. The event will be sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its second annual Christmas concert on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., will hold its pre-Christmas musical Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. Della Horace of the Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest musician.

Youth

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Cornerstone will observe its annual youth and young adult day Sunday. At 11 a.m. Rev. Tarik Dendy, associate minister at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Altheimer, will be the guest speaker. At 2:30 p.m., Rev. Joshua Pickett, associate minister at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Music will be provided by the youth and young adult mass choir and Future Generation.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2501 N. Pryce St., will hold a youth day service on Sunday at 11 a.m. Rev. Byron Calhoun of Little Rock will be the guest speaker. Cortez Lee, head football coach at Dollarway High School, will give words of encouragement.

The Regular St. Marion District young people’s department will observe its annual Christmas service on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 S. Olive St. The service will include a “Bible Bowl” with prizes given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. There will be various talents from other churches.
