Anniversaries/Annuals

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Dermott will hold its 125th anniversary at 3 p.m. Nov. 4. Special guests will be Rev. Kenneth Taylor and the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church from Marion.

The 116th anniversary of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. Walter C. May, pastor of Kings Highway Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., will celebrate its choir anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Curtis Smith, pastor of Belmont Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Bethlehem #2 Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will celebrate its church anniversary on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev Willie Gordon, pastor of Greater First Baptist Church in Pickens, will be the guest speaker.

The Temple Dwelling In You Church at Sherill will celebrate its 133rd anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Sherill. Rev. Brian Dotson, pastor of Freedom Baptist Church in Altheimer, will be the guest speaker.

First Missionary Baptist Church (Ladd), 4901 McDonley Road, will celebrate the first anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Accie Lee Reynolds Jr. and Tonniesha Reynolds, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Lee Coleman, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke, will be the guest speaker.

The New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will celebrate the ninth anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Melvin D. Graves and Angeria Graves, on Sunday. Rev. James Carey, associate minister of New Town, will be the speaker at 11 a.m. Rev James Thrower, pastor of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, will be the 3 p.m. speaker.

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will hold its annual usher program on Sunday at 3 p.m. featuring Men in Black in concert.

New Hope CME Church, 901 E. 21st Ave., will hold its annual usher program and Annie McCray Harvest Tea on Sunday at 3 p.m. Katrina Tate of First Trinity Church of God in Christ will be the guest speaker.

St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 Catalpa St., will hold its mass choir annual on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Desean Jarrett, pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Lonoke, will be the guest speaker.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold its choir anniversary. Rev. Robert Anderson, pastor of Mulberry Grove Chrch, will be the guest speaker on Saturday at 7 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr., pastor of Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Revival

Full Faith Christian Center Inc., 1320 E. 17th Ave., will hold its fall revival and first National Pastor’s appreciation month celebration at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday with the following speakers:

• Tuesday — Janice Harrison, an evangelist at Full Faith

• Wednesday — Maxine Tillman, a minister at Full Faith

• Thursday — Rev. Isaac Barron, Full Faith’s pastor.

Special Events

Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host an associate minister’s appreciation on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Darrell Montgomery, pastor of Second Baptist Church in England, will be the guest speaker.

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will host pink carnation Sunday on Sunday at 11 a.m. Pink Carnation Sunday is a project that BreastCare coordinates each year, a program of the Arkansas Department of Health. Pink Carnation Sunday began in 2000 with 12 churches in three counties. The program provides information about free screening and diagnostic services.

Rev. Carolyn D. Allen Ramsey, pastor of Destiny Worship Center, will hold services Sunday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Annex Building, 2900 W. Sixth Ave.

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will hold a homecoming worship service on Sunday at 11 a.m. Rev George Glass, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Bastrop, La., will be the guest speaker.

New Fellowship Baptist Church, 1801 W.17th Ave., will hold family and friends day on Sunday at 9 a.m.

St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will celebrate family and friends day on Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Shujuan Washington, pastor of Greater New St. James Baptist Church in Chicago, will be the guest speaker. A reunion choir concert will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold a candlelight vigil for lost loved ones on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. The speaker will be state Rep. Efrem Elliott. The event is sponsored by Drue Griffin, chairman and founder of Soul Searches, a non-profit organization whose mission is to get involved with youth by speaking with them about dangers of the streets.

First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 S. Catalpa St., will feature Arkansas Baptist College President Fitz Hill as the speaker during worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Hill is also co-author of Crackback!, about African American coaches and their challenges.

The Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association will conduct a workshop on technology during its October board meeting Sunday and Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 812 E. Harding Ave. Tonya Richardson and the dean, Levell Bass, will hold the classes on “Computers in the life of the Church.” Participants are asked to bring their computer devices — laptop, iPad or cell phone.

Concerts/Musicals

Pleasant View Ministries, 1117 N. Palm St., will host a choir homecoming on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will host the 41st anniversary of the Dixie Aires on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Groups will include the Spiritualetts, the Little Voices of Heaven, Sweet Melodies of Altheimer, Orange Chapel Choir of Dumas and True Vessels.

New Cheeks Chapel AME Church at Sherrill will host the 61st anniversary of the Pastoria Singing Union on Sunday at 5 p.m. Rev. Ramon Hunter, pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Union Hill Baptist Church at Rison will host a musical Sunday at 3 p.m. Guests will include Pop Gulley and the Stars, Spiritual Airs and Nu-begin-N.

Womens/Mens Day

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold its annual men’s day on Sunday. The guest speakers include Rev. Ledell Jordan, associate minister of First Missionary Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. and Rev Larry Battles, pastor of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, at 3 p.m.

New Direction Baptist Church, 3000 Louisiana St., will hold its men’s day celebration on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church in Star City, will be the guest speaker.

St. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 4508 S. Main St., will hold a women’s day celebration on Sunday at 3 p.m. Ronnie Lynn Johnson of Kings Highway Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave., will hold its annual women’s day pre-event on Friday at 7 p.m. Rev. Valerie Franklin of Yes I Can Ministries will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold its annual women’s day on Sunday. The guest speakers will be Roberta Love of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m., and Freddie Johnson of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, at 2:30 p.m.

Youth

Eternal Life Ministry, 503 Pryce St., will hold youth day on Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be O.J. Fuller, a prophet.

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold its third annual youth choir concert on Sunday at 6 p.m.

New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will host the 2012 Youth Conference entitled “I’m Never Scared” at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Greg Smith of Greater Fellowship Ministries. Classes for youth pastors, leaders, staff and parents begin at 6 p.m.
