Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Kenneth E. Jones Sr. and Debra Jones, on Sunday. At 11 a.m., state Appeals Court Judge Waymond Brown will give words of encouragement. At 2:30 p.m. Rev. Johnny Smith Jr., pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

New Jerico Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 N. Lindell St., will celebrate the sixth anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Don Zell and Ardelia Jones on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Dexter McDonnell, pastor of God’s Way Fellowship, will be the guest speaker.

Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Reedville will celebrate the 12th anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Edward and Pam Demery, Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. T.R. Ramey, pastor of St. John Missionary Church in Mitchellville, will be the guest speaker.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3006 Kentucky St., will celebrate the 137th church anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church of Star City, will be the guest speaker.

Union Chapel Baptist Church at McGehee will celebrate the second anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Mark E. Stephens and Cynthia Stephens, Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Glen Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike, will celebrate the 33rd anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Willie J. and Cakneller Brown, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Elder Paul Robinson, pastor of Acts 2 and 4 in Little Rock, will be the guest speaker.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ladd will have their annual usher program on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Jerry Hayes, pastor of Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Packingtown, will be the guest speaker.

Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 2121 Havis St., will celebrate the 33rd anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Odis H. Richmond Sr. and Margaret A. Richmond, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Hayward M. Battles, pastor of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and Eagle Rock Church of God in Christ in Little Rock, will be the guest speaker.

Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will be honoring its pastor and wife, Rev. Ramon and Wanda Hunter, on their first appreciation service Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev Roosevelt C. Barnes Jr., pastor of Ash Street Baptist Church at Dermott, will be the speaker.

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will begin a month long celebration of the 19th anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Walter C. May and Hilda May, Sunday at 3 p.m. The Adult Inspirational Choir will sing.

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church will host a brunch and fashion show to honor its first lady Hilda May on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. The event will take place at Terry’s Home Cooking Food, 119 W. Second Ave. Mrytle Curry of First Missionary Baptist Church will be the speaker. Call 692-8040 to confirm attendance or to purchase tickets in advance. Concerts/Musicals

Greater Mt. Olive Church at Tucker will host the celebration for the Hayes Singers fifth anniversary on Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold a musical benefit program for Sherry Baker and Clemestine Cole-Cooper on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir will be the sponsor.

Prairie Lake Baptist Church, 2611 S. Indiana St., will hold an annual choir special on Sunday at 3 p.m. Guests churches include Westside, Newbirth and Highland.

Victory Faith Church of God in Christ, 1517 S. Poplar St., will host “Saturday Live,” a gospel music service on Saturday at 7 p.m. presented by The Gospel Sonz. Guests include the Shaw Boys, Spiritualettes, Sensational Hearts, Westside Harmonettes of Star City and Faithful.

Revivals

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its annual fall revival services Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. Rev. Henry J. Lyons, pastor of New Salem Baptist Church of Tampa, Fla., will be the guest speaker.

True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will hold revival services Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. Rev. Joe H. Todd, pastor of Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wis., will be the guest speaker.

Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Rison will hold revival services Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Rev. Elbert Harris, pastor of the Greater Battle Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, will be the guest speaker.

Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 425 South, will hold homecoming service on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. LeArthur Shelton, pastor of the Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold a communion service on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Rev. L.D. Hiriams will be the guest speaker.

Family Time Baptist Church and Ministry, 501 S. Ohio St., will hold the monthly union night of the Pine Bluff Quartet Local Union on Sunday at 7 p.m. Guests will include the Mighty True Lights, Union Choir, True Tones, Rice Spirituals, William Singers, Spiritualettes and others.

Noble Lake Holiness Church, 8221 Atkins Lake Road, has begun weekly worship services on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Victory Faith Church, 1517 S. Poplar St., will celebrate Kingdom Harvest Campmeeting with services Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m., celebrating the 15th anniversary of the church, according to its pastor and bishop, K.D. Mixon Sr., founder of Victory Faith. Dates and speakers include:

Youth

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 West 26th Ave., will hold a “Judah Praise” youth extravaganza beginning Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m. with the Judah Praise Summit featuring several workshops and a concert Sunday at 6 p.m.

Judah Praise revival will be 6 nightly with the following speakers:

• Monday — Rev. Leroy Carter, pastor of Old St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Miss.

• Tuesday — Rev. Frank Harris, pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

• Wednesday — Rev. Terry Brown, pastor of New Birth Baptist Church.

Women’s/Men’s Day

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will host a women’s conference Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests include Wanda Parker, instructor and first lady from at Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock and Rev. Gerald Parker Sr., instructor and pastor from Pilgrim Progress. The Witness Project of Little Rock will hold a session on “Detecting and Surviving Cancer” at 11:50 a.m. and Dr. Alexander Rejistre will lecture on men’s health at 11:50 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the registration fee is $5.

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will host a women’s day on Sunday at 11 a.m. Debra Kentle Canagan of Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold a men’s and women’s day on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Aaron Barnes, pastor of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

The Living Word Church of God in Christ at Crossett will host the Arkansas 3rd Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ 16th annual jurisdictional women’s conference Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. with Lendora Early, State Supervisor of Women, as the guest speaker. On Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. Tira Jones will be the speaker.

Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church is hosting its third Men and Women’s Conference Oct. 12-14 starting at service at 7 p.m. with George Waddles, pastor of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill., speaking, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s Vesper Choir singing.

On Oct. 13, events begin at 8 a.m. with sessions led by Waddles and his wife, Karen Waddles, director of

Zion Hill Christian Academy, a private Christian school, followed by a noon lunch. On Oct. 14, Mt. Harmony will have only one service at 10:45 a.m.
