Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will celebrate its 44th church anniversary on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jimmy Fisher, pastor of Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church,1800 W. Pullen St., will celebrate its 127th church anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Boyd of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will hold its annual usher program on Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Darrell Martin of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at Varner will hold the 27th anniversary celebration of its pastor, the Rev. Ernest Jenkins, and wife Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Scott of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church at Grady.

New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 North Lindell St., will celebrate its 52nd church anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lamar Brooks of Marzell Missionary Baptist Church at Tamo.

Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka will hold its annual choir day on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Acie Reynolds, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church at Ladd, will be the guest speaker.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Faith will hold its annual homecoming service Sunday at 3 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Larry Ward, pastor of Union Hopewell and Bluff Springs.

Main Street Church of God in Christ, 2901 Main St., will hold its annual usher board program on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will celebrate its 15th annual church anniversary on Sunday at 9 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Sylvester Kearney, pastor of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church at Grady.

The guest speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be W.R. Norful, pastor of St. John AME Church.

Jerusalem No. 3 Baptist Church at Gethsemane will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Larry and Frances Blood, on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Aaron Barnes, pastor of New Home Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be the guest speaker.

Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 Cypress St., will celebrate its 122nd church anniversary Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Larry Alexander of St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will be the guest preacher.

New Direction Baptist Church, 3000 Louisiana St., will celebrate the 39th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. James Wilkerson, at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Rev. Arthur Hughes, pastor of First Baptist Church at Humphrey, will deliver the sermon.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will celebrate the 21st anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Roosevelt Simmons Sr. and Estella Simmons, beginning today with a Roast and Toast for Estella Simmons from 9 to 11 a.m.

The celebration will continue Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Roosevelt Simmons Jr., pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church at Gethsemane.

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will hold its annual ushers’ program on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Gilbert Byrd Jr., pastor of the Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church at Stuttgart.

Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 8523 Princeton Pike, will observe its annual ushers’ program on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Willie Laws Sr., pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Cornerstone, will bring the message.

St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will hold its men’s choir annual on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Ken Parham, pastor of I’m a Part Missionary Baptist Church of West Memphis.

St. Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will hold its 79th church anniversary/homecoming program Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Charles B. Frost Sr. of Holly Grove AME Church at North Little Rock will deliver the sermon.

At 11 a.m., the Rev. Hodijah O. Gray will deliver the message.

Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, 4401 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its annual Friends and Family Day at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker will be Willie Brown, pastor of Barnes Temple Church of God In Christ.

Concerts/Musicals

Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold a back-to-school musical program Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Mount Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer will host an appreciation program for the Southeast Arkansas Mass Choir at 7 p.m. Aug. 25. Guests will include Angels of Christ, Inspiration Voices, Oak Grove Choir and others.

Words of encouragement will be by the Rev. Leroy Spears Jr.

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St., will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its pastor and wife, the Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr. and LaDawn Barnes, with an “Explosion of Love” musical at 6 p.m. Aug. 25.

Revivals

Cornerstone Fellowship Community Revival will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer on Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. each day.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Graylin Wilson, pastor of Second Baptist Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka.

Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, 515 Mulberry St., will hold revival services Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 nightly.

The guest evangelist will be Elder Oliver Smith, Arkansas 1st Jurisdiction evangelist president.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will hold revival services Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. each day.

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will hold deacon ordination services for Willie Helloms Jr., Bobby Ladd, Sidney Moore Sr., and Brian Blake at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. George Toney III, pastor of Pilgram Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Noble Lake and Sixteenth Section Missionary Baptist Church at Monticello.

Cherry Street Memorial AME Zion Church, 800 S. Cherry St., will hold an appreciation/celebration program for its pastor and wife, the Rev. Silas Redd and Willie Catherine Redd, at 3 p.m. Sunday. Silas Redd will be celebrating 51 years in the AME Zion ministry and six years as the pastor of Cherry Street Church.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Hershel Lovelace, pastor of Liberty Hill Baptist Church at Little Rock.

Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 Indiana St., will host a mission workshop and fellowship at 10 a.m. Aug. 25. The instructor will be the Rev. Steven King, pastor at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Jeremiah Cummings, worldwide evangelist, will be the guest speaker at Joy Community Church, 2101 E. Sixth Ave., at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Cummings was a student of Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam for nearly 10 years. He is the only remaining member of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Ladd community will host the 96th annual session of the Greater St. Marion District Association and the 86th annual session of the Young People’s Department beginning Monday through Friday at 5:30 nightly.

Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will not hold service Sunday. Pastor Terry Brown will be the guest preacher at Longley Baptist Church at Little Rock during its 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. The congregation will leave Newbirth at 10 a.m. Sunday en route to Little Rock.

Youth

First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 S. Catalpa St., will sponsor a free back-to-school conference today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. School supplies will be distributed to all students who attend and a sack lunch will be provided.

The conference is for youth ages 6 to 18 years old. The males will meet at the Trinity Annex Building, 2900 W. Sixth Ave., and the females will meet at the church.

The annual Youth Day will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Seth Mitchell of Edmondson. Mitchell is currently a junior majoring in chemistry at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Victory Faith Church of God In Christ, 1517 S. Poplar St., will host its Youth Weekend 2012 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with a musical featuring The Gospel Sonz of Pine Bluff and the Evangelist Temple Youth Praise Team from Jackson, Miss.

Activities will continue Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with K.D. Mixon II as the speaker. Scheron Womack will be the speaker for the 3 p.m. service.

Women’s/Men’s Day

Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 6300 U.S. 79 South, will host its Men and Women’s Day program on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Rev. Raeshawn Howard Sr., associate minister of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3006 Kentucky St., will celebrate its annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker will be Beverly Jones of Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Ladd community will hold its annual Men’s Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. James Murry, pastor of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

There is Hope Church Of God in Christ, 1003 E. Second Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day celebration on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Lendora Early, 3rd Jurisdiction of Arkansas supervisor of women.
