Anniversaries/Annuals

St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Melvin and Marilyn Harrison, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Felton Thornton, pastor of Daniel Chapel Church, will be the guest speaker.

The Regenerated Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 E. Sixth Ave., will be celebrating the sixth anniversary of the pastor and wife, Rev. Levell Bass and April Scott-Bass, at 3 p.m. Aug. 19. The Rev. Robert L. Handley, pastor of Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 2900 S. Catalpa St., will celebrate the sixth anniversary for its pastor and wife, the Rev. Aaron E. Barnes and Marcella Barnes, beginning today at 7 p.m. with First Lady’s night. Yvette Graydon of First Baptist Church at Altheimer will be the guest speaker.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, service will be held at New St. James Baptist Church, 3301 S. Fir St. The Rev. George Barnes Sr., pastor of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher.

Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will hold its third anniversary of the pastor, and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Brian L. Castle, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Dennis Wilson, pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Holly Grove, will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will hold its annual celebration of the Mt. Nebo Junior and Senior Usher Ministry at 7 p.m. Friday. Special guests will be Rev. Carl Gardner, associate minister of Newbirth Baptist Church, and The Men In Black.

Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church at Reed will hold its annual Family and Friends program at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Robert Handley, pastor of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be the guest speaker.

Greater Mount Calvary Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will celebrate the 16th anniversary of its pastor and wife, Rev. Jimmy L. Fisher and Nora Fisher, at 11 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Richard Lewis, pastor of Unity Baptist Church at Copperas Cove, Texas, will be the guest speaker.

Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will hold its annual Mothers and Deaconesses program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Leon Williams, pastor of True Vine E Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

The International House of Prayer Church, 4106 W. 12th Ave., will hold its 42nd pre-anniversary program for Bishop G. Lusk at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Elder George Howard of the Workmen of Christ Holiness Church of Memphis will be the guest speaker.

Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Ohio St., will hold its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. George Glass of Bastrop, La., will be the guest speaker.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold its annual usher day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Ramon L. Hunter of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill, will be the guest speaker.

Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave,. will celebrate its annual Youth Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. DeSean Jarrett, pastor of St. John Baptist Church at Lonoke.

Revivals

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold its summer revival service Wednesday through Friday at 7 nightly. Rev. Robert Willis, pastor of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest evangelist.

Pleasant View Ministries, 1117 N. Palm St., will hold its second annual back-to-school youth revival today at 7 p.m. The program includes praise dancing and Gospel Rap.

Oak Grove Baptist Church, 13112 Dollarway Road, will hold its revival service Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Nursery care will be provided. Wade Totty will be the evangelist.

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will hold its prayer meeting Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and revival Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. Rev. Lamar Brooks, pastor of Marzell Missionary Baptist Church at Grady, will be the evangelist.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will hold its revival service Wednesday through Friday at 7 nightly. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Glass, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Bastrop, La.

Special Events

Full Faith Christian Center Inc., 1320 E. 17th Ave., will hold a Family and Friends program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. John Eves of Stanford, Va., will be the guest speaker.

St. Peter Catholic Church, 1515 S. State St., will hold the installation of Rev. Anil Thomas as pastor of St. Peter and the blessing of the Presider’s Chair Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The celebrant for the Mass will be Bishop Anthony Taylor of the Diocese at Little Rock.

Greater Deliverance Global Ministry will hold the Empowering Kingdom Leaders Summit in the Jefferson Room at the Ramada Plaza, #2 Convention Center Drive, at 4 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The speakers will be Anthony Nelson, an apostle from Ashdown; Jerry Bradden, a bishop from Morrilton; Belinda Helms, an apostle from Jacksonville, and Pat Johnson, an evangelist from Bald Knob.

Auburn Missionary Baptist Church at Gould will hold its Deacons Ordination service on Sunday at 3 p.m. for Robert Green and Ray McKinzie. Rev. Ernest Jenkins will be the guest speaker.

Women’s/Men’s Day

Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its annual Women’s Day service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rene Wine of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day service Sunday. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the lesson highlights will be given by Della Horace of Indiana Street Church. At 3 p.m., Joyce Murray of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

Youth

The youth department and young adults at New St. Hurricane Baptist Church, 3319 Ohio St., will hold a worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Sedrick Robinson of First Baptist Church at North Little Rock, will be the guest speaker.

New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will hold its annual youth events starting with revival at 7 nightly with the following speakers on these dates:

• Wednesday — Rev. Darren Edgerson Sr., pastor of St. Peters Rock Missionary Baptist Church;

• Thursday — Rev. George Waters of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church;

• Friday — Rev. Courtney Wilson of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.

New Town will also hold the Joshua Generation Youth Conference Aug. 18 beginning with registration at 8 a.m. and the conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual youth day celebration will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 19. Rev. Frank Harris Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.
