Special events

The Church of God, 7111 Shannon Road, will hold an Easter celebration Sunday. There will be a free Easter breakfast from 7-9 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt for the children at 12:30 p.m.

Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W. Martin St., will hold a resurrection service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. James Burroughs of Main Street Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will hold its annual Easter program at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The program will consist of an Easter skit and speeches.

First Trinity Church of God in Christ, 800 S. Catalpa St., will hold sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The service will include saxophonist Alexis Cole of Memphis, Pleasant View Ministry Junior Praise Team, a dramatic presentation “The Ultimate Sacrifice,” and a keynote speaker, Eva McGee of the Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ.

Jerusalem No.2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 W. 12th Ave., will hold an Easter fellowship at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Andrew Williams of Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

Loggy Bayou Missionary Baptist Church of Tillar will hold a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday with Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church and Bailey Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Reed. The Rev. Eddie Handley Sr., pastor of Bailey Chapel, will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday.

Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday with New Town Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Melvin D. Graves of New Town will be the guest speaker and combined choir of both churches will sing. Mt. Nebo will also conduct an Easter program at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.

Mt. Sinai Church, 2221 S. Olive St., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday. The pastor, Rev. Cleon Morgan, will be the speaker. Breakfast will follow the service.

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 Saint Raphael Road, will hold sunrise service with Solomon Hill Missionary Baptist Church at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Jonathan Mitchell of Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Tucker will be the guest speaker.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow will hold Easter sunrise service Sunday from 6-7:30 a.m. Breakfast will be 7:30-8:30 a.m. Sunday School 8:30-9:30 a.m. Worship service will be at 9:45 a.m.

New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, 3319 Ohio St., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Frank Harris Jr. of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will hold sunrise service and communion service at 6 a.m. Sunday. The youth department will present a photo shoot at the Family Life Center at New Morning from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. The photo package includes an 8x10 and two 4x6 photos for $10.

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Bruce Caldwell, associate minister of Pine Hill, will be the guest speaker. Morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. and the annual youth department Easter day program will follow the morning service.

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Star City will hold an Easter fellowship service with Kindling Star, Travelers Rest in Grady and Jefferson Chapel churches Sunday at 10 a.m.

New Salem Baptist Church in Sherrill will begin service on Sunday at 8 a.m. followed by breakfast then Easter activities.

Saint Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will hold its sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr., pastor of Barraque Street Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3004 S. Kentucky St., will hold sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday with Gospel Temple and Grace Temple Missionary Baptist churches.

Victory Faith Church, 1517 S. Poplar St., will hold sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Members of the Higher Faith Kingdom Coalition will be present.

Brinson M. Stewart, chief apostle, and Michelle R. Stewart will sponsor Resurrection Sunday events at Ramada Plaza, #2 Convention Center Drive, at 4 p.m. Sunday starting with an Easter egg hunt. At 5 p.m., recording artist and prophet, Kevin Davidson & Dominion Praise, will be presented followed by a soul food buffet. For more information call: 501-563-8889. Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold a union Sunday school and service with Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church in Jefferson will hold its annual mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday. Felicia Coleman will be the guest speaker.

Recording artist Dedric Jones will present “Churching with the Pastors” Part 2 at 6 p.m. Sunday at New St. Hurricane Baptist Church, 3319 S. Ohio St. Guest speakers will include Rev. Michael Williams, Rev. Glenn Barnes, Rev. Jason Long and Rev. James Murry. Kim Jones Sneed, a minister with Pleasant View Ministries Church, will be the worship leader and narrator and music will be presented by gospel artists and a mass choir.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Cornerstone will hold its fifth Sunday fellowship at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Willie Laws Sr., pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Cornerstone, will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold a benefit service for Jeanette Jones on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Guests will include Angels of Christ, Virtuous, Pure in Heart, Johnson Family Sensation, Soul Revival and Heavenly Hearts.

Old Macedonia Church in Tarry will hold a church fellowship Sunday at 11 a.m. with Richardson Chapel, New Macedonia and Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist churches. The Rev. David Marks, pastor of Cherry Hill, will be the guest speaker.

Old Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will hold its first Monday monthly fellowship praise and worship seminar at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. Jenise “Sandy” Blake, pastor of Sonlite ministries, will be the guest speaker.

Concerts/musicals

Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will hold an Easter musical praise and worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Sponsored by Men In Christ, the program will also feature other groups including Nu Image, Pure Purpose and Mighty True Lights.

First Free Will Baptist Church in Warren will hold a Texas/Arkansas/Louisiana singing convention Friday at 6 p.m. and April 6 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 600 E. 38th Ave., will host the Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir’s “Songs of Praise 43 Concert” at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Revivals

International House of Praise, 1002 E. Eighth Ave., is holding revival at 7 nightly with the following speakers Wednesday, Tracy Shavers, prophetess from Evangelistic Outreach Ministries; Thursday, Frankie Dennis, prophetess from Rock Faith Ministries and Friday, Shaye Bearden, prophetess from Oasis Ministries.

Faith in Action Ministries Church, 316 S. Poplar St., will hold a revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Nathaniel Burton, bishop of Second Chance Ministries in McGehee, will be the guest speaker.

Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Ohio St., will hold its spring revival Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Rev. Theodis G. Shelton, pastor of First Baptist Church in Harrell, will be the guest speaker.

Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 S. Cypress St., will hold its annual spring revival at 7 nightly with the following speakers Monday, Rev.
