Anniversaries/Annuals

Westside Missionary Baptist Church in Star City will celebrate its 61st church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. James Simpson will be the guest speaker.

The Church of the Living God, 3120 Gravel Pit Road, will honor the associate pastor and wife, Kenneth and Kymberly Edwards, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Marcus Morton, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Jefferson, will be the guest speaker.

Evangelistic Outreach Church and Ministry, 612 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive, will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Helping Hands Ministry at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Elijah Jackson, co-pastor of Christian Outreach Ministry & Love Worship Center, will be the guest speaker.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in the Noble Lake community will celebrate the 18th anniversary of Rev. George Toney III and Sherry Toney at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Donald Agee, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, will be the guest speaker.

Newbirth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will hold its eighth church anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Rodney Harris, pastor of Labannah Baptist Church in Little Rock, will be the guest speaker.

Special Events

City Wide Mission will meet at Stewart Memorial CME Church, 911 S.Maple St., at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

St. Peters Rock Baptist Church, 12th Avenue and Catalpa Street, will host the annual mission program of the Central District Women’s Auxiliary at 10 a.m. March 23. The Rev. George Waters, pastor of Rose Hill Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Saint Paul Baptist Church in Tucker will hold an appreciation service for Rev. Rodney Cherry and wife at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Clarence Davis will be the guest speaker.

Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow will hold the seventh pastoral appreciation service Rev. David L. Marks Sr. beginning Friday at 7 p.m. with ministers’ night and guest speaker Rev. Charles McIntosh of Grace and Mercy Church. March 23 at 6 p.m., a musical appreciation is scheduled. March 24 at 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Willie Laws of New Morning Star Church and at 3 p.m., the anniversary will feature K.D. Mixon, bishop of Victory Faith Church, as the guest speaker.

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will hold its annual homecoming program, with a friends and family day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Anthony Craig, pastor of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold a pastor’s aide program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Joe Scott, pastor of New Jerusalem #2 Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. The music will be provided by Men-in-Black and New Beginning.

Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, #2 Convention Center Drive, will host a Family & Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Terrance Williams, pastor of the Living Word Church, will be the guest speaker.

Concerts/Musicals

First Southern Baptist Church in Sheridan will hold a singing celebration at 6:30 p.m. Saturday followed by a fellowship. The Hacketts will be the special guests.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will hold its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr., pastor of Barraque Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will hold a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Golden Stars Quartet will be the guests.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Faith will hold its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Anthony Walker, pastor of Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, will be the guest speaker.

Family Time Baptist Church, 501 Ohio St., will kick off the 53rd annual musical to honor the Williams Singers at 6 p.m. Saturday. The guests will include groups from the surrounding area. The celebration will continue Sunday at 6 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St. The Gifted of Baton Rouge, La., and Radical of West Memphis, will be the special guests. Canaan Christian Center, 7890 Middle Warren Road, has canceled the Music Lovers Encounter scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Revivals

Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church in Tillar will hold a spring revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The Rev.Timothy Ramey will be the evangelist.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will hold its annual spring revival Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill, will be the guest speaker.

True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will hold a revival Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Robert Willis Jr., pastor of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold a musical benefit program for the Rev. Curtis Jones and Trevia Adair at 7 p.m. Saturday. The musical benefit is sponsored by The SE Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

Womens/Mens Day

St. Paul AME Church, Highway 190 West on Princeton Pike, will hold its annual Men’s Day program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Kent J. Broughton Sr., pastor of St. James AME Church in Warren, will be the guest speaker.

New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will hold its annual Men and Women’s celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Charles Helloms of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Ladd will be the guest speaker.

Main Street Church of God in Christ, 2901 Main St., will hold its annual men’s day celebration at 11 a.m. Sunday. Elder Lester Gaston of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Dumas will be the guest speaker.

New Hope CME Church, 901 E. 21st Ave., will hold its annual Men’s Day celebration starting with a men’s health fair Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, services include the 11 a.m. worship. At 3 p.m. celebration, Rev. Monte Coleman, associate minister of First Assembly of God Church and head football coach of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, will be the guest speaker. Men in Black will provide the music.

First Baptist Church, 2120 U.S. 425, will hold its annual men’s day program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Roy Thomas, pastor of Eudora Baptist Church in Altheimer, will be the guest speaker.

College Heights Church, 1313 N. Magnolia St., will host its annual Ladies Day program from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday. Registration will be accompanied by a continental breakfast from 8-9 a.m. Mary Childs of Pine Bluff and Arnice Hartaway of Little Rock will be speaking on the topic of “Make Me Over in the Eyes of God.”

Jerusalem #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will hold its annual men and women’s day program at noon Sunday. The Rev. Uylesses Dunlap, pastor of Jerusalem #1 Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will hold its annual men’s day beginning Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon with a men’s forum conducted by David Morehead, a lawyer. The forum is open to young men ages 7 and up. The men’s day celebration will continue with worship service Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Aaron Barnes, pastor of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Music will be provided by the New Home Boyz.

Richardson Chapel Missionary Baptist in Tamo will hold its annual men’s day program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. David Marks, pastor of Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow, will be the guest speaker.

Youth

Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St., will hold its Realtalk sessions for young men age 7 and up at 5 p.m. Tuesday. This program is open to the community.
