The Rt. Rev. Larry Benfield, 14th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas, will make his annual visit to Trinity Episcopal Church of Pine Bluff on Sunday.
There will be two services of Holy Communion, one at 8 a.m., followed by a coffee hour, and a service at 10:30 a.m., which will also include confirmation and recognition of recent high school and college graduates, followed by a brunch.
“This is special opportunity to learn more about the Episcopal Church, and to hear the bishop preach,” Rev. Van Windsor, rector of Trinity Church, said. “He is renowned for his eloquence.”
Those attending the services are also invited to remain afterward and to visit with Benfield.
Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 703 W. 3rd Ave., is the oldest Episcopal church building in continuous use in Arkansas. Construction began in 1859, and the first service was held on Christmas Day 1870.
