Walker to speak at Coffee With the Chiefs

The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Coffee with the Chiefs is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Saint Paul Baptist Church, 1404 South Georgia Street in Pine Bluff. First Ward Alderwoman Thelma Walker is scheduled to address members of the clergy and community.

Persons performing outstanding service will be recognized at the monthly Coffee with the Chiefs. The Pine Bluff “Eyes and Ears Award” acknowledges a first responder or community member for good work and community involvement. Commendation forms will be available in the mayor’s office and at the police and fire departments. Residents may pick up forms at the ICVR office, 2315 South Olive St. in Pine Bluff, from 9 a.m.until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Pine Bluff Crime Advisory Committee will select a nominee submitted from the community, and the Pine Bluff police and fire chiefs will select from their respective departments. Community names should be submitted to the ICVR office not later than the third Thursday of each month beginning in March. Persons selected will be recognized at the ICVR Coffee with the Chiefs held on the first Tuesday of each month.
