Arkansas Community Organization announces a fair federal budget rally will held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in front of the George Howard Jr. Federal Building, 100 E. Eighth Ave.
The rally is part of a national day of action sponsored by Americans for Tax Fairness, a spokesman said.
Ministers and residents will speak out for a budget that ends special tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations and preserves programs that benefit low-income and working families, a spokesman said.
Participants will release a faith leader statement on the federal budget signed by several Arkansas pastors. Speakers will include Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr., a new member of the Pine Bluff city council.
The faith leader statement will be delivered to Arkansas’ congressional delegation after the rally. A rally was also scheduled in Little Rock at 1 p.m. in the rotunda of the State Capitol.
