The ground-breaking ceremony for the Lake Saracen Splash Park, which will be located just west of Saracen Landing on Pullen Street, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the site.
The Splash Park, which is a result of the Vision 20/20 Committee several years ago, will be constructed with funds from the city sales tax initiative from February of 2011 and from a 2012 Outdoor Recreation Grant from the state parks, which is a 50/50 matching grant.
The welcome will be presented by Angela Parker, director of the Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation Department. The funding and amenities of the project will presented by Mayor Carl A. Redus Jr.
Mizan Rahman from ETC Engineers & Architects Inc. of Little Rock will speak on the logistics of the Splash Park.
