Senior Schedule


Lunch is served, and activities planned Monday through Friday at the Coretta Scott King Senior Citizens Center at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park and the Strachota Senior Center, formerly the Bradshaw Senior Citizens Center, 801 E. Eighth Ave.

Here is the King Center’s schedule of activities for this week.

Monday

Beanbag basketball, exercise and lunch.

Tuesday

Fire drill, exercise and lunch.

Wednesday

Movie Day, exercise and lunch.

Thursday

Nutrition education with Vanessa V. Evans, exercise and lunch.

Friday

Exercise and lunch.

Transportation is provided daily to and from the King center. Persons needing transportation may call 870-543-6282.

Here is the Strachota Center’s schedule of activities for this week.

Monday

Low-impact beginning exercise, video exercise, aerobics for seniors by Bobbie Gurnsey and lunch.

Tuesday

Coffee/dominoes, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, fellowship, exercise and lunch.

Wednesday

Low-impact beginning exercise, video exercise, aerobics for seniors by Bobbie Gurnsey and lunch.

Thursday

Coffee/dominoes, ZUMBA Gold classes begin, lunch and 1 p.m. AARP meeting.

Friday

Low-impact beginning exercise, video exercise, aerobics for seniors by Bobbie Gurnsey, lunch and dance from 6-9 p.m. Admission is $2.

Various exercise equipment is free for use by senior citizens at the Strachota Center, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additional information about the activities at the Strachota center is available by calling 870-543-6323.

Monday

Sausage, peppers and onion, tater gems, glazed carrots, hot dog bun, diced pears, mustard and milk

Tuesday

Breaded chicken patty, country gravy, macaroni and cheese, garden vegetables, Texas bread, chocolate chip cookie and milk

Wednesday

Beef Italian macaroni, tossed salad, green beans with peppers, wheat bread, peach cobbler, thousand island dressing and milk

Thursday

Baked chicken, ranch potatoes, herbed green peas, white bread, strawberry gelatin and milk

Friday

Meatballs with gravy, egg noodles, purple hull peas, white bread, fresh fruit and milk
