SEARK student president attends national conference


Southeast Arkansas College Student Senate President Sylinda Furgason of White Hall and faculty adviser Sherri Roberts recently returned from Washington D.C. where they attended the American Student Association of Community Colleges National Student Advocacy Conference.

While in Washington, Furgason and Roberts met with nearly 350 other student leaders from across the country.They also met with staff from the offices of Rep.Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.)

Furgason was selected as vice president of communication for the national board of ASACC, which represents two-year colleges across the nation. She will be attending leadership conferences in Park City, Utah, and New Orleans, La., during her year long tenure. Mrs. Furgason will also be the regional and state representative for Arkansas.
