SEARK sets voter registration, honor society events


Southeast Arkansas College plans voter registration event and honor society ceremony Thursday.

Student leaders from SEARK and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will hold a voter registration drive at SEARK from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday between McGeorge and Founders halls. The group will be under a red tent.

Also Thursday, SEARK’s Phi Theta Kappa Induction will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Founders Hall-Lyceum. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of the two year college. Membership is opened to SEARK students who completed 12 credit hours and have earned a 3.5 grade point average. The program speaker will be Carla Martin, dean of UAPB’s School of Business and Management. Phi Theta advisors are Deborah Pyland, director of retention, and Gail Stith, education counselor, and instructors Dan Wessell and Iry Rice.
