Ridgway Christian students win at state science fair


Eight Ridgway Christian School students earned awards at the Arkansas State Science Fair on March 30 in Conway:

• Freshman Jacob Andersen won the first-place award and $300 in plant sciences;

• Senior Demetrius McCullough won the second-place award and $200 in materials engineering;

• Freshman Peyton Aulds won the second-place award and $200 in environmental science and the Stockholm Jr. Water Science Prize and will compete for the opportunity to advance to the National Stockholm Jr. Water Science Competition in Portland, Ore., in June;

• Senior Dell Goldmon won the third-place award and $100 in environmental science;

• Sophomore Liz Lawrence won an honorable mention certificate in earth science;

• Freshman Catlin McGough won an honorable mention certificate in environmental management;

• Sophomore Madison Heflin won an honorable mention certificate in environmental management;

• Freshman Jasmine Rowland won an honorable mention certificate in plant sciences;

• And science teacher Diedre Young was awarded the SW Energy Teacher Appreciation Award as well as a plaque and $100 for her participation in science fairs with her students.
