Ridgway Christian seventh-grader places in speaking contest

Jeremy Ward, a seventh grader at Ridgway Christian school, recently placed second in the 13- to 16-year-old division during the fourth annual Ralph D. Vines II Public Speaking contest.

Jeremy competed in the contest held at Rufus K. Young Christian Church in Little Rock on the topic The Dangers of Tobacco Products. Jeremy, who was sponsored by London’s Company of Performing Arts and First Trinity Church, used the title “Just think about it.”

Vines said the mission of the public speaking contest is to pursue, foster and support the personal development of young Arkansans through public speaking.
