Red Cross announces volunteer training classes

The Southeast Arkansas Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold free certified training classes for Red Cross volunteers. Classes will be taught by Red Cross instructors Hazel Rice and Willa Baker.

Classes taught in Pine Bluff include Shelter Operations, April 30, 6 to 9 p.m.; Shelter Simulation, May 2, 6 to 9 p.m.; Disaster Assessment: Basics, May 6, 9 a.m. to noon and May 9, 6 to 9 p.m.; Client Casework, Part 1 May 21 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 and May 23 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Classes in Monticello include Disaster Services: An Overview, April 27, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30; Disaster Assessment: Basics, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. to noon; and Client Casework May 18, 9 a.m. to 4 pm.

The Pine Bluff classes will in the Red Cross training room at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building, 211 W. Pine St. Classes in Monticello will be at the Work Force Training Center.

To register for classes or for details, call the Red Cross office in Pine Bluff at 534-7312. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to assist in Red Cross Disaster work.
