The U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers will deliver for America in conducting the nation’s largest single-day food drive on May 11.
Just leave a bag of non-perishable food items by your mailbox and local letter carriers will collect them and deliver the food to a local food bank and other hunger relief organizations, such as pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
Examples of non-perishable items include: peanut butter, canned soup, canned meats and fish, canned vegetables, fruits and juices, boxed goods (such as cereal), pasta, and rice.
For more information ask your letter carrier, contact your local post office or visit www.helpstampouthunger.com or www.facebook.com/StampOutHunger and follow the drive at www.twitter.com/StampOutHunger.
