PB native completes doctorate


Tonya Evette Brooks-Brewster, a native of Pine Bluff, recently completed her Doctorate of Education degree in counseling psychology from Argosy University in Los Angeles, Calif.

Brooks-Brewster is the daughter of Lawrence and Eunice Brooks of Pine Bluff and a 1990 graduate of Dollarway High School. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. In 1994 she completed her Education Specialist degree in school psychology from the University of Memphis.

Brooks-Brewster currently works as a licensed educational psychologist for Desert Mountain Children’s Center in Apple Valley, Calif. She provides psychological services to children from 0-6 years that are on the autism spectrum or have developmental behavior disorders.

Brooks-Brewster plans to continue her work as she completes supervision hours toward becoming a board certified behavior analyst and diplomat in school neuropsychology. She resides in Apple Valley, Calif., with her two children.
