The Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services Department has decorated a ladder truck with Christmas lights and outfitted it with a sound system that will play Christmas songs through neighborhoods evenings through Dec. 20.
Emergency calls and/or inclement weather may cause the schedule to be adjusted, however plans are to have firefighters out with the truck from approximately 5- 8 p.m. promoting a fire-safe holiday.
The event began Monday in the Watson Chapel, Scenic Village, Shannon Road, and Chapel Heights communities.
The firetruck’s schedule also includes:
Tuesday – West of Blake Street, south of Sixth Avenue and north of Faucett Road
Wednesday – West of Myrtle Street, north of Sixth Avenue and south of Martha Mitchell Expressway
Thursday – Dollarway area, Brookshire’s on Dollarway from 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Friday – Martin Luther King Jr. Park, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, University Drive and Riverside Drive
Saturday – Downtown, west of Ohio Street, north of Harding Avenue and east of Main Street
Sunday – Downtown, west of Main Street, north of Harding Avenue, east of Hazel Street
Dec. 17 – From Southeast Arkansas College to Interstate 530, west of Hazel Street, and east of railroad tracks, 28th Avenue and Hazel Street from 4:30–5:15 p.m.
Dec. 18 — South of west Sixth Avenue, east of Blake Street and west of railroad tracks
Dec. 19 — North of 46th Avenue, south of 17th Avenue, east of Hazel Street and west of Olive Street
Dec. 20 — North of Wal-Mart, south of 17th Avenue, east of Olive Street and west of Ohio Street.
