A Jefferson County Parent Summit will held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. April 6 at the family life center of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist, 2101 Reeker St.
Rural Community Alliance, the Pine Bluff Branch of the NAACP and Arkansas Opportunity to Learn are the sponsors.
The purpose of the summit is to help parents understand the importance of being involved in their children’s education and to explore effective ways to become engaged. Special speakers will be state Sen. Joyce Elliott and state Sen. Stephanie Flowers. Elliott is a member of the Senate Education Committee and Flowers is known for her work on parent engagement.
