Mosaic Templars Cultural Center celebrates five years

LITTLE ROCK — The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is celebrating five years of collecting, interpreting, preserving and heralding the history of African-Americans in Arkansas.

MTCC officially opened its doors Sept. 19, 2008, as the fourth museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. In its five-year existence, the museum has focused on being the repository of the state’s African American history and culture from 1870 to the present — particularly in the areas of business, politics and the arts.

Several events are marking the anniversary. Details: (501) 683-3593 or visit www.mosaictemplarscenter.com.
