Jefferson County Judge Dutch King and Redfield Mayor Tony Lawhon are among 115 officials in 58 counties who have declared May as Historic Preservation Month, AHPP director Frances McSwain announced today.
“The theme of Historic Preservation Month 2013 is ‘See! Save! Celebrate’ and ‘Saving Our Heritage: Arkansas’s Historic Structures’ is the the theme for Arkansas Heritage Month” McSwain said.

The officials declare that it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and the contributions made by dedicated individuals in helping preserve the tangible aspects of the heritage that shaped us as a people.
