Historic preservation resources program set

Pine Bluff Downtown Development and the City of Pine Bluff will host representatives from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the UAPB Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St. Owners and prospective owners of historic properties are invited to learn more about preservation resources available.

The AHPP can provide technical assistance to people interested in restoration, rehabilitation or renovation of historic properties. Wednesday’s program will feature information about preservation tax incentives, technical assistance, grants, and other resources available to support historic preservation in Pine Bluff.

“As I’ve said before, downtown is the ‘heart and soul’ of our community,” says Mayor Carl A. Redus, Jr. “We are moving forward with our streetscape planning thanks to the ‘Penny for Progress’ tax initiative. Restoring our buildings is a very essential part of fully revitalizing downtown,” he said.
