A group of young men from high schools across Pine Bluff have been on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff campus for the last four months as part of the Produce! Create! Innovate! Community Producer program and will graduate from the program at 6 p.m. Friday in the Caldwell Hall Cross-Phipps auditorium.
The guest speaker will be David Rainey, superintendent of schools in Dumas. Formerly a state representative, Rainey also served as visiting professor at the UAPB and managed a partnership between the university and five school districts to improve reading, math and English K-12.
The program is sponsored by a grant from the Beyond the Bricks Program. The graduation is open to the public.
