Goodwill seeks donations during spring cleaning

Residents are encouraged to donate to Goodwill Industries of Arkansas as they clear their closets, garages and other places during spring cleaning.

Now through April 14, residents may drop off gently used clothes, shoes, e-waste and toys at the local Goodwill and enter to win a $100, $50 or $25 gift certificate to Goodwill.

“When you spring clean and bring your donations to Goodwill, not only do you get a tidy space, you fund our mission of helping people looking for employment right here in central Arkansas,” said Goodwill President and CEO, Brian Itzkowitz. “You are also helping keep reusable items out of our landfills.”

Donating to Goodwill also helps provide career services and programs that help Arkansans with disabilities and other barriers get jobs, earn a paycheck and reach their highest potential, a spokesman said.

Every time a donation is made at any one of Goodwill’s 32 convenient locations, now through April 14, donors will be eligible for entry into the drawing. There is no limit to the amount of times a person can donate and enter.

Goodwill Industries of Arkansas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, training and employment services for people with disabilities and other special needs since 1927. Revenue generated through the sale of reusable goods at Goodwill retail stores is used to create jobs and fund programs for Arkansans.
