Earle student given Full-Ride Scholarship to UAPB

Jarrion Harris of Crawfordsville, Ark., was recently awarded a Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Office of Recruitment.

Harris is the valedictorian of Earle High School Class of 2013. He is the son of Kathena Mathis.

Harris’ main activities include playing football, studying and lifting weights. He is a two-time valedictorian and a Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society inductee. He will major in industrial technology at UAPB with plans to become a mechanical engineer.

“I selected UAPB because it will give me a chance to experience the many positive aspects of college life,” Harris said. “The Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship will help me graduate from college and continue my life of success.”

To be eligible for the Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship, a student must have a minimum ACT score of 21 or higher, be the valedictorian or salutatorian and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. The Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship pays full tuition, fees, room and board and $500 for books each semester.
