Dollarway School District’s Pathways to College program, a project of The Ophelia J. Berry Fund Inc., presented food baskets to two families.
Baskets were handed out Dec. 17 during an end of semester celebration.
John Hodges, former Pathways scholar who lost his mother to cancer, and Cheryl Wade, a Dollarway School District employee who lost her home to fire, were the two recipients of the baskets.
Dennis Diehl, manager of Brookeshire’s on Camden Road, and Steve Horton, owner of Sav U Mor, donated turkeys for the baskets.
Linda London Simmons is the regional director of Pathways. The Dollarway program is part of a national Pathways to College program, helping first generation students attend college. Details: Visit www.pathwaystocollege.org .
