Brandon Campbell, creator of Little Rock Fashion Week, is scheduled to speak at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff at 1 p.m. Friday.
Campbell, who has worked as a writer and television producer, will speak in the Adair-Greenhouse Building (human sciences building), in the fashion design studio, room 222.
The event is part of the Department of Human Sciences’ Merchandising, Textiles and Design Program Careers in Fashion Speaker Series which began in October. Those interested in careers in the fashion industry are encouraged to attend.
Campbell started fashion week in 2009 after returning to Little Rock from New York City where he worked in the entertainment and fashion industries. The first of its kind in Arkansas, fashion week highlights the state’s fashion industry, its artists and boutiques that cultivate the industry.
At UAPB, Campbell will discuss the realities of getting started in the fashion business, careers in the fashion industry and fashion week intern opportunities which include modeling (behind the scenes), fashion/styling, public relations, music, graphic design, production, sales, hairstylists, make-up artists, hospitality and video.
He will also discuss the fashion week Student Designer Dec. 5 deadline and application
