The city of Pine Bluff will be distributing CFL energy efficient light bulbs free to more than 1,500 households in the Living Green in Pine Bluff program, Mayor Carl A. Redus Jr. said Thursday.
“It will be a first come, first distribution basis. You only need to bring some proof of Pine Bluff residency,” Redus said in a news release.
Light bulbs will be distributed on the east parking lot of the civic center from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dec. 18-20 and Dec. 26-28. The event will be held at the city council chambers if inclement weather occurs.
Funding was made available through a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy focused on energy conservation.
Living Green is a project to encourage residents to adopt energy conservation behavior. Staff from the city’s community development office and fire department will be primarily responsible for distribution throughout the community.
Energy tips ranging from recommending weatherization, insulation, water heating tips and use of ceiling fans will be highlighted in the Living Green in Pine Bluff brochure.
