Applications available for KingFest Marade


The 29th annual KingFest Martin Luther King Jr. Marade will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 21. Participants in the march/parade will travel from the Jefferson County Courthouse to the Pine Bluff Civic Center.

The theme is “Mentor A Child, Save a Life.” Participants are asked to develop and display messages to be placed on floats, cars, banners and signs related to mentoring. An award will be given for the best slogan.

Churches, social and civic organizations, youth groups, neighborhood watch groups, sororities, fraternities, school bands, businesses, and elected officials are invited to join the event.

KingFest honors the legacy of the late Civil Rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. through interracial cooperation and community service.

Marade applications can be filled out at the ICVR office, 2315 S. Olive St., or upon request, applications will be faxed by calling 536-7274 or emailed to pbicvr@aol.com.
