Agency offers energy-bill assistance for crisis situations


The Pine Bluff Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will only be accepting applications for the Crisis portion of Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

As of, March 29 the regular assistance portion has ended. LIHEAP offers help to residents struggling to pay their home energy bills. The crisis portion of LIHEAP will extend further energy assistance for extreme situations such as shut-offs or within seven days of shut-offs for households.

In Jefferson County, applications are accepted at the PBJCEOC Pine Bluff Office, 817 South Cherry Street, Call 870-536-0046.

In Grant, Cleveland, Lincoln, and Arkansas counties call the agency’s toll free number at 1-800-277-1313.

In Grant County, applications are accepted at the PBJCEOC Sheridan Office, 815 E. Center.

In Cleveland County, applications are accepted at the PBJCEOC Rison Office, 203 Main

In Lincoln County, applications are accepted at the PBJCEOC Star City Office, 107 S Drew

In Arkansas County, applications are accepted at the PBJCEOC Stuttgart Office, 425 S. Main.
