Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, 3703 Ryburn Rd., will host its 17th annual Holiday Craft Bazaar, Bake Sale, and Soup Lunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The bazaar will include an assortment of handmade crafts, Christmas centerpieces and wreaths, Christmas cards, tote bags, key chains, bulletin boards, Razorback items, gift trays, bake sale items, frozen casseroles and jellies. A $6 soup lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The annual bazaar is a church-wide event, according to an event spokesman. Workshops begin each year the Monday after Labor Day. Working three to four days a week, a group of mostly retired ladies find themselves with a full-time job at least until the third week in November. The bazaar is always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Church members who cannot attend the workshops spend their time at home making craft items, soups and casseroles, and baking for the bake sale. Men of the church help by contributing hand-crafted wood and metal items, and by helping set up and tear down before and after the bazaar.
“Working on the bazaar is a time for wonderful fellowship and a time for members to share their various talents,” the spokesman said.
