This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.


7 — Tickets for the annual Christmas Luncheon and Festival of Tables, sponsored by the Pine Bluff Salvation Army Auxiliary, are on sale. The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Great Hall of First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave. All tickets are $15 each, with carry-outs available. 7-8 — The third annual Créche Festival, sponsored by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2501 Ridgway Road, will be held. Dates and times are: Dec. 7 — 6-9 p.m.; a short Christmas program will be presented at 7 p.m.; Dec. 8 — 1 to 4 p.m. Family, friends and neighbors are invited to stroll through displays of Nativity sets and scenes from around the world. 7-8 — The Central District Youth Department will present its “Truth About It All” Youth Conference beginning with a concert at 6 p.m. Friday at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St. The conference will begin with registration at 9 a.m. Saturday at Pine Hill. There is no fee required for registration and a continental breakfast will be served.

7-31— This year’s “Enchanted Land of Lights & Legends” is open and will remain open until New Year’s Eve. The drive-through holiday light display will be open from 6-9 p.m. each day in the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. 8 — The Jefferson County Civitan Club will sponsor the 65th annual Pine Bluff Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. in downtown Pine Bluff. This year’s theme will be “The True Meaning of Christmas”. After the parade, enjoy an Old Towne Christmas at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, 500 E. Eighth Ave. There will be live musical entertainment, children’s activities, balloon artist, magician, story time with Mrs. Claus and a visit with Santa. All events are free and open to the public.

8 — Healing Place Ministries is asking for the community’s support as it kicks off its annual fundraising drive with a holiday banquet, “Spending the Holiday with Pine Bluff Hall of Famers,” from 6-9 p.m. in the Great Hall of First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave. The honoree during the event will be renowned pianist, Jimmy McKissic. Banquet tickets are $25 each. To purchase tickets, contact Edna Morgan at 870-535-0101 or 870-692-2400.

9 — The Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra will present its traditional holiday spectacular at 4 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Special guests will include the Arkansas Festival Ballet, the Episcopal Collegiate School Steel Drum Band and Pine Bluff native, Eleanor Pearl. 14-15 — The White Hall High School Choral Department will present its Madrigal Feaste 2012 at 7 p.m. Dec. 14-15 at the Pine Bluff Country Club. The fare will include a traditional feast of roasted pork, wassail and flaming plum pudding, plus a program of holiday music.
