This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.

November

23 — This year’s “Enchanted Land of Lights & Legends” is now open and will remain open until New Year’s Eve. The drive-through holiday light display will be open from 6-9 p.m. each day in the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. 30 — Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will host Potpourri, its bi-annual fundraiser, on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The event on Nov. 30 will be held from 7-10 p.m., and will feature the band, Big Phil and Chill, heavy hors d’oeuvres, margaritas, a wine and beer pull and a preview of the artwork, parties, jewelry and other items that will be available at the silent and live auctions on Dec. 1. The black-tie optional event on Dec. 1 will be held from 6-10 p.m., and will open with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by dinner and the live auction. Tickets are $60 per person for Nov. 30 and $100 per person for Dec. 1. Tickets for both nights can be purchased at $150 per person. Seating is limited. December

1 — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit, Voices for Children, The CALL and the Department of Human Services will host the second annual toy drive on the Walmart parking lot. The mobile command center will be set up between the entrances to accept new toys and cash donations. All toys and money collected will be used to provide Christmas to the more than 200 children in foster care in Jefferson and Lincoln counties. To donate toys or make cash donations, call the Voices for Children office at 870-536-5922.

2 — University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir will also present the 59th annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at 3 p.m. in the John M. Ross Theatre at the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Building on UAPB’s campus. For more information, call 870-575-7001.

5 — Children’s Theatre on Tour, a touring company of the Arkansas Arts Center’s Children’s Theatre in Little Rock, will perform “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” at 10 a.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium. Local sponsors of the play are ARESC-HIPPY, ARESC-PAT, JCCSI Childcare Links/PAT, and DECC.

7 — Tickets for the annual Christmas Luncheon and Festival of Tables, sponsored by the Pine Bluff Salvation Army Auxiliary, are on sale. The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Great Hall of First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave. All tickets are $15 each, with carry-outs available. Tickets can be bought from any Auxiliary member, by visiting the Salvation Army Corps at 501 E. 12th Ave., calling 870-534-0504 or calling Carolyn Uschold at 870-536-1458 or Linda Minyard at 870-879-5867.

8 — The Jefferson County Civitan Club will sponsor the 65th annual Pine Bluff Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. in downtown Pine Bluff. This year’s theme will be “The True Meaning of Christmas”.
