Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.
18 — The AARP Driver Safety Program, developed by AARP, will be offered from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, 1600 W. 40th Ave. The cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, payable to AARP at the time of the class. Participants should bring a valid driver’s license and their AARP membership card if they are members. Those interested in attending the class should call 870-247-4898 to pre-register. The class will be limited to 35 participants.
19 — The Jefferson County 4-H program has scheduled a mini day camp for 5- to 9-year-olds during spring break, which will be observed next week by local school districts. The Cloverbud mini day camp will be conducted from 8 a.m. to noon at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service conference room, 500 Idaho St. Topics to be covered include etiquette, Internet safety, bullying, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), nutrition and fitness, and will include lots of hands-on interactive activities. 5 — The Blue Thirds will be featured during Live@5 monthly music series at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St. Cost of the evening is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. For more information, contact the center at 870-536-3375.
6 — The 18th annual Railroadiana Show and Sale will be held at the Arkansas Railroad Museum, 1700 Port Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission for adults is $5; children 6 to 12 is $2; and children under 6 are admitted free with a paying adult. For more information, call the museum at 870-535-8819.
6 — The Junior League of Pine Bluff has set the date for “Heads or Tails,” a benefit/fundraiser to fight against child hunger in our community. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at Harbor Oaks Restaurant. Patrons will enjoy food, drinks, auction and live music from Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funkmonster band. Tickets are $55 for adults 21 and up. Valid identification will be required. Proceeds will directly benefit children who are hungry in Jefferson County. 6 — The 16th annual Area Agency on Aging Benefit Bass Tournament will be held on the Arkansas River in Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park from safe light until 3 p.m. The entry fee for each two-person team is $110, which includes participating in a $500 “Big Bass Pot”, plus two tickets to the King Kat Fish Fry. 19 — The Strachota Senior Center, 801 E. Eighth Ave, will host a fish fry fundraiser to benefit Meals on Wheels. Tickets are on sale now for $10. Dorey’s Catfish will be cooking on site that day. Take-out dinners will be served starting at 11 a.m., and dine-in begins at 11:30 a.m. Orders of 10 or more can be delivered with advance notice by April 17.
