9 — Rio Clemente, known as The Bishop of Jazz, will be appearing at the Pine Bluff Country Club, 1100 Country Club Lane, at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Old Town Theatres Centre as part of its dinner theatre series, Clemente will play on a 7-foot, Steinway grand piano brought in special for this occasion. 9 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will host a free Tinkerfest 2013 event from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn to restore and re-appropriate old clothes into exclusive treasures, learn the art of fantasy mask-making on a budget with household items, learn to use latex and crepe hair to build wigs and facial hair and much more. 9 — Allinya Entertainment Group and the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will present “Corner Poet’s Poetry Slam” at 1 p.m. Regis Versey, a former member of the Arts & Science Center board of trustees, is working with English teachers from regional high schools to develop the students’ poetry skills. Students will compete for prizes and the “I Got the Mic” trophy. The event is free but attendees must have advance tickets. Tickets will be available at the Arts & Science Center and at Pop’s Barber Shop.
9 — Treasure Chest Bridal & Formal Wear will host An “Unforgettable”Bridal Fair & Special Events Expo 2013 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Ballroom. The event will include door prizes, cake, food and catering samples, free gifts and much more. The first 50 brides will receive a free gift bag. General admission is $5. 6 — The Junior League of Pine Bluff has set the date for “Heads or Tails,” a benefit/fundraiser to fight against child hunger in our community. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at Harbor Oaks Restaurant. Patrons will enjoy food, drinks, auction and live music from Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funkmonster band. Tickets are $55 for adults 21 and up. Valid identification will be required. Proceeds will directly benefit children who are hungry in Jefferson County.
