Calendar of Events


This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.

1 — Charlotte Taylor & Gypsy Rain will be featured during the monthly Live@5 music series from 5-7 p.m. at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St. The cost of the evening is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. 2 — The Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra will present “Classics in The Popular Vein” at 7 p.m. in the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium, 1 Convention Center Plaza. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Preferred adult tickets are $30 and students (K-12) are $12. General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $8 for students (K-12). 5 — The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum, 201 E. Fourth Ave., will kick off Archaeology Month at 7 p.m. Rodney Parker, district archaeologist from Little Rock, will highlight the many contributions made by African Americans within the field of archeology. For more information, call 870-541-5402 or visit www.pbjchistory.org. Reservations are not required. The museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

9 — Rio Clemente, known as The Bishop of Jazz, will be appearing at the Pine Bluff Country Club, 1100 Country Club Lane, at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Old Town Theatres Centre as part of its dinner theatre series, Clemente will play on a 7-foot, Steinway grand piano brought in special for this occasion.
